Seasonality affects electrical costs in ways other than occupancy day changes. Common areas, such the reception area,
need to be maintained for longer periods of time in the winter than they are in the summer. The fixed electrical
expenses will vary seasonally as a result. In addition, the number of days in a month will have an impact on fixed costs.
Put differently, expenses such as common area lighting are constant regardless of the number of occupied rooms
during the month, but vary based on the number of days in the month. Aside from these more systematic concerns,
individual guest careful spending may also have an impact on electrical costs. When they depart a room, some visitors
will turn out the lights.
