I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the period, the students shall:
a. identify and label major external body parts;
b. demonstrate psychomotor skills by performing basic physical movements and
actions related to body parts, and
c. develop empathy and appreciation for the diversity of human bodies.

III. PROCEDURE

A. Activity

Parts of the Body

1. Shoulder:
 Definition: The joint connecting the upper arm to the torso, allowing a wide
range of motion and providing stability and strength for arm movements.

 Function: Facilitates a wide range of arm movements including lifting,


pushing, and pulling, and provides stability to the upper body.

2. Head:
 Definition: The uppermost part of the human body, housing the brain and
sensory organs.

 Function: Provides protection for the brain and houses sensory organs
such as the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.

3. Nose:
 Definition: The facial organ responsible for the sense of smell and the
intake of air for breathing.

 Function: Allows the detection of odors and serves as a passage for air
during respiration.

4. Eyes:
 Definition: The sensory organs responsible for vision, allowing the
perception of light, shapes, colors, and images.

 Function: Enables sight and visual perception, providing information about


the surrounding environment.

5. Ears:
 Definition: The sensory organs responsible for hearing and maintaining
balance, capturing sound waves and transmitting them to the brain for
interpretation.

 Function: Allows the perception of sounds, aids in communication, and


helps maintain balance and spatial orientation.

6. Mouth:
 Definition: The opening in the face through which food is ingested, and it
plays a vital role in speech production and communication.

 Function: Facilitates the intake of food and water, contributes to the


digestion process, and is essential for vocalization and communication.

7. Hands:
 Definition: The terminal part of the arm, consisting of the palm and fingers,
enabling manipulation, dexterity, and fine motor skills for various tasks.

 Function: Allows grasping, gripping, fine motor control, and performing


intricate tasks requiring precision and coordination.

8. Fingers:
 Definition: The slender digits attached to the hand, used for gripping,
grasping, and performing intricate tasks requiring fine motor control.

 Function: Enables fine motor skills, precise manipulation, and various


tasks requiring dexterity and tactile perception.

9. Feet:
 Definition: The terminal part of the leg, providing support, balance, and
locomotion, allowing walking, running, and other forms of movement.

 Function: Supports the body's weight, facilitates movement and


locomotion, and provides balance and stability.

10. Toes:
 Definition: The digits located at the end of the foot, assisting in balance,
stability, and providing a push-off during walking or running.
 Function: Contributes to balance, helps with weight distribution, and
assists in propulsion during walking or running.

11. Legs:
 Definition: The lower limbs of the body, extending from the hips to the feet,
responsible for support, movement, and locomotion.

 Function: Enables standing, walking, running, and various forms of


movement, providing support and mobility for the body.
D. Application
Instruction: Arrange the cutouts to create an accurate formation of body parts.

IV. EVALUATION
Instruction: Correctly identify and label the name of each body part.
