Argumentative Essay On Welfare

Writing an argumentative essay on the topic of welfare can be a challenging task that requires careful
consideration of various perspectives and a thorough understanding of the subject matter. The topic
itself is multifaceted, involving complex issues related to social, economic, and political aspects.
Crafting a well-reasoned argument requires extensive research to gather relevant information and
data to support your claims.

One of the difficulties lies in navigating the sensitive nature of the welfare system. The topic often
involves discussions on poverty, inequality, government policies, and societal responsibilities.
Addressing these issues requires a nuanced approach to ensure that your arguments are well-
grounded, respectful, and considerate of diverse viewpoints.

Furthermore, constructing a coherent and persuasive thesis statement is essential in an argumentative

essay. It should clearly articulate your stance on the topic while setting the stage for the subsequent
development of your arguments. Formulating strong arguments and counterarguments, supported by
credible evidence, demands critical thinking and analytical skills.

In addition, maintaining a logical flow throughout the essay is crucial. Transitioning seamlessly
between different points and sections while maintaining clarity and coherence can be a challenge.
Striking the right balance between presenting facts and incorporating your own analysis is another
aspect that requires careful attention.

Despite the challenges, writing an argumentative essay on the welfare topic can be a rewarding
experience. It allows you to engage with important societal issues, develop your analytical skills, and
enhance your ability to articulate and defend your opinions.

Condom Use A Method Of Birth Control
Condom Use a Method of Birth Control Introduction
The purpose of this instrument is to evaluate a health belief model based on condom use
intervention targeting undergraduate students. Research studies have been done to
measure the number of people who use condoms as a form of contraception (Moore
Melkote, 2009). Research studies show condom use and other prevention methods can
reduce the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STD), and protect against pregnancy
(Moore Melkote, 2009). HIV/AIDS Risk among College Students in the United States
was a study similar to the instrument survey I created. The study focused on the
correlation between condom use and the use of other forms of birth control at last
intercourse (Moore Melkote, 2009). Research data showed that the women used condoms
to prevent pregnancy during intercourse (Moore Melkote, 2009). The audience for my
instrument consists of African American college women and men involved in
heterosexual relationships in an undergraduate program, attending a public university in
the United States. Adults in college are subject to catching STD s, and HIV through
unprotected sex (Moore Melkote, 2009).
The health behavior theory used in this instrument is the health belief model.
The health belief model: Perceived Susceptibility, Perceived Severity, Perceived
Benefits, Perceived Barriers, Cues to Action, Self Efficacy (Bandura, 2001). The self
efficacy focus on an individual s confidence in their ability to
Essay on The Impact of Terrorism on Immigration
The Impact of Terrorism on Immigration

Always on the lookout for opportunities to press their case, anti immigration advocates
lost no time after the attacks of September 11. As one of them pointed out in testimony
before the Senate,

It seems clear that the 19 terrorists of September 11 were all foreign citizens and entered
the United States legally, as tourists, business travelers, or students. This was also true of
the perpetrators of previous terrorist acts . . . While it is absolutely essential that we not
scapegoat immigrants, especially Muslim immigrants, we also must not overlook the
most obvious fact: the current terrorist threat to the United States comes almost
exclusively from individuals who arrive from abroad. Thus, ... Show more content on

Instead, the President pointedly visited a mosque and the Mayor of New York
admonished the city s residents not to seek revenge on Arabs or Muslims. Senator
Edward M. Kennedy, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee s Subcommittee on
Immigration, insisted that Immigrants are not the problem, terrorists are the problem. 3

Even as he announced a crackdown on illegal immigration and tightened visa procedures,

President Bush made the same distinction: We welcome legal immigrants but we don t
welcome people who come to hurt Americans. However, measures undertaken to enhance
security by tightening admission procedures as well as to search for the enemy within
led to the targeting of Muslims and Middle Easterners, broadly speaking. Moreover, the
U.S. refugee resettlement program ground to a halt, leaving thousands of refugees
overseas in dangerous limbo, straining the limited resources of agencies that resettle
them, and exacerbating the decline in annual U.S. refugee admissions for yet another
year. 4

Quite literally, none of the hijackers nor any of the other suspects identified so far
qualifies as a full fledged immigrant, in the sense of someone who was admitted to the

The Poverty Cycle Of Homeless Children
education, despite income level, students have a higher chance of continuing and ending
their poverty cycle.
Homelessness
Poverty affects more than a child s education, it also impacts where that child might
sleep at night. During the 2009 2010 school year, 939,903 homeless children and youth
were enrolled in public schools, a 38% increase from the 2006 2007 school year ( Effects
of Poverty... 2). These numbers include grade K 12, so additional younger children
may not be accounted for. In 2010 more than 1.6 million children (1 in 45 children) in
America were homeless and that approximately 650,000 are below age 6 ( Effects of
Poverty... 2). Homeless children, whether that be bouncing from home to home or living
on the streets, may have a reduced quality of life.. According to Jeff Koistsky, the
executive director of Hamilton Family Center:
Homelessness has a devastating impact on children. No access to places for homework,
no places to feel safe, and they don t even have a pillow or bed to lie down on. They can
t even have a good night s rest. It overall has a terrible impact on their academic and
social development. (youtube video)
When children are in unstable environments, they begin to miss opportunities, such as
potential jobs or educational chances. This will delay a child developmentally, and often
lead the children to dropping out of school and becoming involved with the negative
aspects of life. Children may be exposed to or become enmeshed with violent and
Life Events In My Life
My life events
I had many good and bad thing happen to me in my life and even to this day, but today
I will only be talking about the positive and fun moments or events that I had with
friends or family. I have a great deal of friends throughout my life that I m proud of. I
had and a lot of fun moments with them. Same thing goes with all my family and
relatives that I love very much and are all fun to be with too. I had this one very fun
time at school way back in Nanaimo where my friend and I got dared by another friend
to jump off a swing. It was high up and we had to do a 360 no scope. While I
succeeded, my friend Chase failed and flopped down like a plane crashing. There was
also this time in Nanaimo, where my friend Jessy had a birthday and he invited me to
his party. We watched movies, ate pizza and popcorn. We even went as far as spraying
each other with a team water gun battle. Chase was one of the captains and Jesse was
the other team captain to pick the team players. The party was a great old time. Now
we move on to when I was very young and still pretty small. I was in Toronto and in a
small town called new market. I had my best friend their named Vishal that we went
together every day to school. We had playdates where we would play Pokémon games on
our DS s and played soccer outside beside his garage. He had a brother also and we
would like to play on my PSP multiplayer games all together with his brother. I had a lot
of fun moments with Vishal like
