THE BEST RUN

Enabling Revamped Version of Note Assistant
(SNOTE)

simplified, intuitive, customizable, and scalable, along with providing a new user experience.

This document will help you with the implementation of Note 3051466.

Before you Implement Note 3051466

1. Please ensure that the system has the latest version of SPAM (minimum SPAM required is 68 or
above). To update SPAM please follow the below steps:
Launch Transaction SPAM -> Check release and version -> Find corresponding latest SPAM
version in Service Market Place -> download locally -> Upload the package in SPAM (In menu bar
select Support Packages ->Load packages -> From Front end) -> Once upload is done the
perform SPAM/SAINT Update (In menu bar select Support Packages ->Import SPAM/SAINT

2. The below Notes keep Note Assistant up-to date with the latest fixes:

Correction Instructions (TCI)’ for additional details.

4. Note Assistant should be enabled for consumption of digitally signed SAP Notes. Please refer to
Note 2537133 – ‘FAQ - Digitally Signed SAP Notes’ for additional details.

Implementing the Note 3051466

1 Note 3051466 contains automatic corrections as well as a TCI. The TCI is not enabled for rollback.

2 The implementation of this Note may automatically also implement certain pre-requisite Notes.
Depending on your system’s SAP_BASIS release / support package, these below Notes may be
automatically implemented:

2965025 - SNOTE - Download Latest Version of SAP Notes in Background

2895954 - Utility code for dynamic calls in SNOTE
2840923 - SNOTE: Enable De-implementation of DDIC Correction Instructions

Additional pre-requisite Notes may also be implemented together with these Notes.
3 You may also be prompted to perform some manual activities as a pre-implementation activity.
These manual activities would belong to these pre-requisite Notes and it is important that these
are performed for a smooth enablement.
4 Once the Note 3051466 is completely implemented, please restart transaction SNOTE for the
changes to take effect.

Troubleshooting Note Assistant after 3051466 is Implemented

1 The TCI is not rollback enabled and so the Note 3051466 cannot be de-implemented.
2 In case you encounter critical issues in the new Note Assistant after Note 3051466 is
implemented and you would wish to implement additional Notes to fix this, please use the
transaction SNOTE_OLD. This launches the old version of Note Assistant and it is independent of
the changes applied via this Note.
3 Please continue to keep Notes 1668882 and 2869143 implemented in the latest version
whenever you wish to use the Note Assistant.
