1. Overview of the Evolution in this Release (Information

Framework Release 23.0)
This release of the Information Framework contains a number of enhancements, including:
 Substantial updates to the concept of Anomaly,
 A number of improvements to Sales Lead & Opportunity ABE,
 First publish of Service, Resource, and Business Partner guidebooks from MODA tool,
 Applying minor corrections and updates, including:
o Clean up (removal) of EntitiesToBeFixedInPh 4 ABE and related package,
o Updates to Project ABE figure Proj.04,
o Refinement of attachment buisness entity attribute definitions,
o Deletion of ActivitySpecCostParameter entity and related associations,
o Removal of generalizations from several association classes,
o Rename Carrier business entity to ShippingCarrier,
o Updates to PartyChurnRetentiionStatistic relationships,
o Update NetworkAddressSpecification Associations,
o Additonal diagram added to the Product Guidebook showing relationship between
ProductSpec and StockItem,

1.1 Document Introduction

1.1.1.Who is this Document for?
This document is targeted for readers who are already familiar with the content of the previous release. It provides
a high level overview of the delta between this release and former release.
Where did the Document content come from?
The material is drawn from a repository of information under the guidance of several Chartered teams within the
TM Forum Collaboration system. The team is composed of TM Forum Members and Staff and have been
assembling this knowledge for several decades. The particular changes to any one version are the result of
strategic debate within the Membership, and typically address the concerns of the day.

2.2 Model Release Definition

It is recommended to read the READ ME FIRST NOTE for the Information Framework and the Information
Framework Release Notes before extracting the contents of any Information Framework file.
The Information Framework model comes in several different formats as described below.

Master ODA (MODA) HTML Web browsable version of the UML 2.x Model. Figures are in
Model v23.0.0 PNG format. The HTML model includes the Information
Model.

Master ODA (MODA) UML Master Open Digital Architecture (MODA) Release 23.0 Model
2.5.1 / XMI 2.5.1 v23.0.0 in UML/2.5.1 / XMI 2.5.1 including diagrams for import into
UML tools that support the interchange format. The model
includes the Information Model.

Information Framework (SID) Excel extract of Information Framework containing ABEs,

Release 22.0 in Microsoft business entities, and attributes along with descriptions.

3. Linkage to other Projects, Charters and Products

There are linkages within the TM Forum programs as well with others.

3.1 TM Forum Open Digital Framework

The Information Framework is one of the key components of the TMF Open Digital Framework (ODF).
The ODF enables users to analyze their business operations against industry processes, applications,
and information standards. They also provide a framework to support the procurement, development,
and implementation of a comprehensive operations environment. The ODF may be used as an
integrated system end-to-end or as components to solve particular problems. They can be applied
throughout organizations by operations staff, software developers and system integrators.

3.2 TM Forum Open API Program

The Information Framework and the Open API program are working in close relationship: the Data
Models used in the different APIs of the Open API program take inputs from the SID when it is
appropriate. Further enhancements are then added where relevant. At last, a mapping of the Data
Models to the SID Information Model is systematically done resulting in proposals to improve either the
APIs or the SID.
