Equipment Required for Setup: • Power Supply • Antennas and cabling

Initial setup
1. Mount the antenna/s.
2. Mount the receiver in a well-ventilated location.
3. Connect antennas, referring to the below Antenna Setups section for reference if required.
4. Connect the power supply to the unit. Once booted, the system will start tracking up to three L-band beams.

System navigation
• Users can navigate the LD900 screen by using the front panel Navigation, Back and Home buttons.
• The system Menu is available in the top left hand of the screen (☰).

Activating the LD900 for VERIPOS services


1. Email the VERIPOS Helpdesk ([email protected]), specifying the User Code (see Receiver > Details if required),
vessel name, services required and the vessel SAL number.
2. To verify the unit is activated, navigate to Receiver > Authorisations.
Note: The default PPP mode is Apex. To switch to Ultra navigate to Configuration > Positioning.

COM port configuration


• Navigating to Configuration > Ports to configure serial COM and TCP/IP ICOM (or) Moxa P (if using Moxa) data.
• LD900 systems interfaced to a Moxa device will provide a Moxa P port instead of a TCP/IP ICOM port
• ICOM1 - ICOM7 data will be output only on ports 3001 - 3007.
• P1 - P7 data will input/ output on Moxa ports 1 – 7, with P7 duplicated and additionally output on P8.
• NMEA messages available for output are GGA, GLL, VTG, ZDA, GST, GSA, GSV, GRS, RMC, HDT and PASHR
• NMEA message HDT only be output if Heading has been licensed and turned on (Configuration > Heading > State).
• NMEA message PASHR will only be available if INS is licensed.
• INS messages INSPVA, HEAVE and TSS1 will only be available if INS is licensed.

Port configuration process


Antenna setups
• See the below for guidance on some of the possible LD900 antenna setups.
• The default Source Antenna is ‘L-band’. Change to ‘GNSS1’ via Configuration > Corrections > L-band if required.
• GNSS2 connections are required only for heading installations.
