IV. PROCEDURE
A. Approach Inquiry Based Learning. In this approach, the teacher guides students to develop critical thinking
and problem-solving skills. To learn these skills, the teacher helps students think through their
processes, teaches them possible approaches, and encourages them to try various methods.
Students are encouraged to fail as a part of the process and then improve their performance in
subsequent activities.
B. Strategy Classroom Technology. This strategy can be used at any level or year of education because
students get excited when they must experience something new for the first time. Video lessons,
virtual trips in geography or history class, animations to help kids learn basic skills, and many more
adapt to this teaching strategy. Moreover, smart whiteboards, projectors should be used in
classrooms.
C. Method Interactive or Participative Method. The teacher’s responsibility is to explain the key points or the
importance of following the interactive or participating method during class in general so that
students may not resist following it.

IV. PROCEDURE (continuation)

Teacher’s Activity
Learning Activities Greeting
(5 minutes) Prayer
Checking of Attendance
Introduction
Motivation
(5 minutes) Show statements of misplaced modifiers and ask the students of their
interpretation.

1. Thieves rob towns with world’s largest chocolate bunny.

2. Posted in the wall, Nela read the note.
3. She saw a puppy and a kitten on the way to the store.

Presentation “Great observation. These are common case of misplaced modifier.

(1 minute) This is a usual error in grammar that can change the meaning of the
entire sentence.”
Activating Prior Knowledge (5 minutes) Modifier is a word, phrase or clause that adds information about
another word or phrase.

Two types of Modifiers:

1. Adjective
2. Adverb

Examples:

1. I'm going to the Saturn Café for a vegetarian burger.

(Adjective)
2. The student carefully proofread her draft. (Adverb)
3. The pretty girl walked over to the counter. (Adjective)
4. Lipstick is expensive. (adjective)
5. We looked everywhere. (adverb)

It is important that the modifier is linked to what it is intended to

modify. Now, if a word or group of words do not link clearly to what it
is intended to modify making the meaning of a sentence ambiguous or
wrong is called a misplaced modifier. It could confuse the reader.

4.Discussion A misplaced modifier is a word, phrase, or clause that is improperly

(15 minutes) separated from the word it modifies/describes.

Examples:

 I ate cereal with chocolate milk in my pajamas.

 She served cookies to her guests on paper plates.
 Jamie ate a sandwich sitting on the park bench.

A misplaced modifier can confuse a reader because the modifier

appears to describe the wrong element in the sentence.

6.Generalization Modifiers give additional information about nouns, pronouns,

(5 minutes) verbs, and themselves to make those things more definite.
 There are two types of modifiers: adjectives and adverbs.
 One of the common modifier errors is misplaced modifiers.
 Modifying phrases must go next to the word that they modify. If
a modifier is in the wrong place, the meaning of the sentence
can change.
