Data Frames: creation - from dictionary of Series, list of dictionaries, Text/CSV files;
display; iteration; Operations on rows and columns: add, select, delete, rename; Head and
Tail functions; Indexing using Labels, Boolean Indexing;
Data Visualization
Purpose of plotting; drawing and saving following types of plots using Matplotlib – line
plot, bar graph,
histogram
Text functions: UCASE ()/UPPER (), LCASE ()/LOWER (), MID ()/SUBSTRING
()/SUBSTR (),
LENGTH (), LEFT (), RIGHT (), INSTR (), LTRIM (), RTRIM (), TRIM ().
Date Functions: NOW (), DATE (), MONTH (), MONTHNAME (), YEAR (), DAY (),
DAYNAME ().
Aggregate Functions: MAX (), MIN (), AVG (), SUM (), COUNT (); using COUNT (*).

rights (IPR), plagiarism, licensing and copyright, free and open source software (FOSS),
cybercrime and cyber laws, hacking, phishing, cyber bullying, overview of Indian IT Act.
Project Work
The aim of the class pro ect is to create tan ible and useful IT application. The learne
ma identif a real-world problem b explorin the environment. e. . Students can
visit shops/business places, communities or other or anizations in their localities
and enquire about the functionin of the or anization, and how data are enerated,
stored, and mana ed.
The learner can take data stored in csv or database file and anal ze usin P thon libraries
and enerate appropriate charts to visualize.
Learners can use P thon libraries of their choice to develop software for their school o
an other social ood.
Learners should be sensitized to avoid pla iarism and violation of cop ri ht issues while
workin on pro ects. Teachers should take necessar measures for this. An
resources data, ima e etc. used in the pro ect must be suitabl referenced.
The pro ect can be done individuall or in roups of 2 to 3 students. The pro ect should be
started b students at least 6 months before the submission deadline.
