Organisational context
Student Employability and Academic Success (SEAS) within the Directorate of Education and
Academic Services (EAS) Directorate which is responsible for providing key education and
administrative support activities that underpin the student experience. University, including global
experience opportunities. Provision is delivered within the curriculum, and in collaboration with
colleges and academic departments, through extra-curricular activity and through facilitating access
to work and study opportunities on campus, across the UK and globally. SEAS colleagues work
collaboratively in the delivery of such provision with students, academics, employers, business
intermediaries, alumni, other professional services, University stakeholders and higher education
partners. SEAS collates data for internal management purposes and contributes to mandatory data
compliance reporting for Government and other external stakeholders
The Team
The Employer Engagement & Student Employment (EESE) team consists of several teams delivering
a wide range of services to facilitate employer and alumni engagement across the University on
behalf of SEAS, Colleges and disciplines in order to support student progression into graduate-level
employment. The team facilitates the creation and signposting to various work-based learning
opportunities (including placements, mentoring and work shadowing) that are accessible through
central SEAS services and through degree programmes for students of all study levels and disciplines.
The team also facilitates and co-ordinates a programme of employer and alumni-led events and
activity for Colleges and through central provision.
Place-based learning opportunities will include part-time work, campus-based internships,
undergraduate internships, graduate placements, other work-based learning schemes as well as
support other SEAS activity that facilitates the securing of relevant opportunities.
Main purpose of the job:
The post holder will be a member of the Employer Engagement & Student Employment team within
SEAS and will be expected to successfully deliver the day to day operational work associated with
the University of Exeter Graduate Scheme. You will build effective relationships with stakeholders
which support and contribute to the delivery of the above service, including graduates, students and
department heads.
Main duties and accountability
1. Co-ordinate and deliver across all aspects of the attraction, assessment & selection process
of the Graduate Scheme with guidance and support from the Graduate Scheme Manager,
including:
a. Supporting the delivery of student talent pipeline feeder activity e.g. Professional
Pathways in HE programme
b. Promotion of the Graduate Scheme through social media and print, targeting
relevant students and engaging with prospects, answering queries and signposting
to relevant information
c. Advertising the Graduate Scheme positions available through various channels
d. Preparing application packs to send to Graduate Scheme Manager and assisting with
candidate (Graduate) shortlisting
e. Coordinating assessment centres and interviews, booking rooms, sending
confirmations to Graduates and providing interview preparation packs to the
Graduates
f. Management of Graduate Scheme Recruitment records and undertake quality
checking of data to ensure accuracy, consistency and efficiency
2. Develop a thorough working knowledge of subject area and act as a central information point for
the UoE Graduate Scheme; collating, updating, coordinating, managing and promoting relevant
information through a variety of media, including website maintenance where required
3. Provide input into standard and one-off communications for Graduate Scheme line managers,
Graduate applications and ‘post offer’ communication with Graduates.
4. Answer general queries through the shared inbox, escalating to Graduate Scheme Manager where
necessary
5. Service meetings and committees by providing agendas, minutes, papers, as well as managing
logistical arrangements
6. Collate, monitor, analyse and interpret data providing written recommendations and summaries
to stakeholders. Proactively identify issues and undertake corrective actions as required
7. Continuously improving the Graduate/candidate experience across the Graduate Scheme lifecycle
where appropriate to the role. Support new ways of working, training others as required and
ensuring a comparable Graduate Scheme experience across all rotations.
8. Participate in relevant working groups as required, proactively contributing and reporting progress
on agreed actions
9. Promote and ensure the consistent and correct application of processes, procedures, systems and
codes of practice, resolving problems and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulation
are adhered to within your area of responsibility.
10. Assist in the design and delivery of Graduate Scheme Induction and ‘aftercare’.

type, finance aspect of the Employer Engagement & Student Employment team within SEAS.
