 Introduction
We learn by self-realization. And we self-realize by doing. Doing things
ourselves. No amount of theory can beat the degree of learning we achieve
by doing things ourselves.

Spending countless hours in doing something Hands-on is the key to self-

realize (and learn in the process). One can’t learn Swimming without taking a
plunge in the water and one can’t learn how to drive without getting behind
the Steering Wheel!

Same is with Structural Engineering. While we may know the basics of

Structural Engineering, what we lack is Hands-on experience of working on
Structural Design Projects.

At AuxEn, we realize this. In our Courses we are able to deep-dive into a

particular topic, but Hands-on Structural Design experience on Projects can’t
be provided in the regular Courses.

Aspiring Structural Engineers when appear for interviews in Structural Design

firms are asked for Work Experience and one can’t get Work Experience until
one works! Even those who want to start a Structural Consultancy of their
own can’t do so until they have sufficient Work Experience.

This is a unique Catch-22 situation we have-Everyone wants experienced

Structural Engineers but no one is ready to provide experience to Structural
Engineers!

To address this issue and to serve the Structural Engineering Community we

are introducing this unique program under the Structural Design Centre.

Through this 3 months long Structural Design Training Program, we will

provide Hands-on experience to the Participants for Structural Design of 4
Projects, starting from Initial Planning to final Drawing development, BOQ
preparation and Design Calculation preparation.

This Program will create a working environment for the Participant like they
will have in a real-world Structural Design firm and will make the Participant
understand the Roles and Responsibilities of a Structural Engineer. Read on…

 Provides a platform to apply Structural Engineering knowledge for actual
Projects.
 Learn to work in a task-based, project oriented environment.
 Understand the complete journey of a Structural Project from Initial
planning to Drawing development and BOQ.
 Prepare yourself for working as an independent Structural Consultant or
to join a Professional Structural Design firm.
How is the Program going to flow?
 In the 3 months duration, 4 Structural Projects (RCC) will be undertaken.
 The Projects(refer Annex-1) will include (all projects will be RCC Structures)-
₋ Residential Bungalow.
₋ Multistorey Commercial Building.
₋ Industrial Building.
₋ Multi Compartment large-capacity Water Tank.
• For each Project, a step-by-step approach will be followed-
₋ Initial Planning of Structural framing system.

₋ Load Calculation for Gravity Loads+Lateral Loads.

₋ Complete Modeling, Analysis and Design using ETABS,SAFE.

₋ Design and Detailing of RCC elements.

₋ Drawing Development using AUTO CAD.

₋ BOQ preparation using MS-Excel.

₋ Design Calculation Report preparation.

• Additionally, Participants will get access to Comprehensive Course on a)

RCC Design and Detailing and b) Foundation Design and Detailing
conducted by AuxEn.
 What are the features of the Program?
 Daily work engagement between 8.30am-5.00pm, Monday-Friday.
 One-on-one interaction (Audio+Video) with the Participants.
 Gamification of tasks and work assignments.
 Monitoring of allotted work.
 Quiz on completion of each Project.
 Access to Comprehensive Course on RCC Design and Detailing and
Foundation Design and Detailing conducted by AuxEn.
 The Program recorded sessions will be available for a period of 1 year.
 E-certificates with assessment of Participants and grading.

 Particpants must be B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Post-graduation will be
even better!

What is the Participant Limit?

 This Program will have a maximum Participant number of 20 (Twenty).
 If required, Entry Quiz and Interview will be conducted.

 Program Details
• Introductory Session- 21st February, 2022, 8.30am.
• Program Duration- 3 months, 70 Work Days.
• Program Timings- 8.30am-5.00pm (Office timings!), Monday-Friday.
• Schedule of a Work Day
8.30am-10.30am-Daily Techincal Session and Task Allotment (by AuxEn).
10.30am-3.30pm- Self Work time (Participants will work on their own).
3.30pm-5.00pm- Work Assessment and Planning for next day (by AuxEn).

What is the Fees for the Program?

• Total of Rs 30,000 (Rupees Thirty Thousand) (at Rs10,000 per month) for the
entire Program.
• The Fees can be paid as lumpsum or in two equal instalments(first instalment
after Introductory Session and second instalment after completion of 1
month).

What does the Fee include?

• The entire Program with all the sessions, all Projects with the complete
deliverables and all the Sessions recorded available for a period of 1 year.
• Two Online Courses conducted by AuxEn; a) Comprehensive Course on RCC
Design and Detailing (Rs4500/-) and b) Design and Detailing of Foundation
Systems (Rs3750/-), amounting to a total of Rs8250/- fully included with the
Program and valid for a period of 1 year.
• Lifetime association with AuxEn and other like-minded individuals!
 What will be the return on investment?
You will notice we are calling the fees an investment. It is quite natural to think
about the return on investment. So, what will be the return on investment?
• 1 Month’s salary if you start working as a Structural Engineer in a Structural
Engineering Design firm.
• Consultancy Fees of 1 Project if you start working as Structural Consultant.
• Hard-core Structural Engineering knowledge, which is priceless!

What will be the Program outcome?

The desired outcome after Program completion are as follows-
• The Participant will understand the steps involved in a Structural Engineering
Project from Initial Planning to Drawing Development, BOQ and Design
Calculation preparation.
• The Participant will become comfortable with the relevant Indian Standards.
• The Participant will develop confidence and gain necessary skills to work as a
Structural Consultant or work in a Structural Engineering firm.

• Why the daily timing is so long?
Remember, this Program is not primarily a teaching program but a learning
program. As you would work in any Structural Design Firm, or work as a
Structural Consultant, spending long hours is the only way to learn and to self-
realize!

• What Design Elements will be covered? Will we apply Wind and Seismic?
Each of the four Projects that will be undertaken will be projects to be
submitted to the Client. So, whatever the Project demands, we will Design and
Detail accordingly!

• What Software are we going to work on?

The Software that one would expect from you as a Structural Engineer. ETABS
and SAFE for Structural Design, AUTO-CAD for Structural Detailing and
Drawing, MS-Excel for BOQ, MS-Word for Design Calculation preparation.

• I don’t know the Software and I am new to Structural Design, Can I Join?
In this Program we are looking for Participants who know the basics of RCC
Structural Design and want to apply their knowledge. If you want to build the
basics, you can take our Comprehensive Course on RCC Design.

• Can I take the Program as Self-Paced Learning?

All our Courses at AuxEn are available to be taken as Self-Paced Learning but
we would encourage the Participants to attend this Program ‘Live’ for
maximum benefit. At least, the First Session of the day should be attended
‘Live’.

In none of the Projects indicated above, the information and details of Client will be shared. The Designs, Drawings, BOQs, Design Calculations will
be prepared by the collaborative effort of Participants during the Course and none of these would be those actually submitted to the Client as
deliverables.
