1 INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on purchasing a Criffer product! Accura 4 is a programmable digital sampling


pump that stands out for its color display, a 5400 mAh battery that provides greater autonomy to
the user, 3 flow control sensors and reporting through the Criffer Suite software. Ideal for collecting
all types of chemical agents such as dust, fumes, gases, vapors and mists. With its datalogger, it is
possible to store collection information such as flow and back pressure present during collection.
Lightweight and ergonomically designed, this equipment meets the requirements of assessment
methods NIOSH, OSHA and ISO 13137:2013.

A complete reading of this manual is essential to know the product and its technical specifications;
ensure accuracy in calibrations; ensure safe operation; and make you able to handle it easily. Our
specialized technical support is available to assist you with any questions regarding the product's
operation.

This manual is subject to updates (the latest version can be found by clicking here). Check the
revision date on the front cover of the manual.

4 GENERAL CARE

4.1 Cleaning
We recommend carrying out a periodical cleaning to ensure the good functioning and longevity
of the product. To clean the equipment, use a soft, dry cloth, or a slightly damp cloth when necessary.

WARNING: do not use cleaning products or abrasives such as alcohol and solvents.

4.2 Storage
Store your equipment in a suitable place, free from exposure to high humidity and extreme
temperatures. Avoid leaving it on tables and benches to reduce the chances of fall.

4.3 Disposal

The Accura 4 is an electronic equipment, and must be disposed separately from domestic
or commercial waste. We recommend that disposal is carried out in a conscientious and
sustainable manner, looking for an electronic waste disposal point.

5 PREPARATION FOR USE

5.1 Initial verification


Check if the Accura 4 has the same serial number as on the invoice. The device must not have
scratches on the cabinet or screen, and the security seal must not be violated. If something does not
conform, please contact Criffer Technical Support for troubleshooting.

5.2 Battery charging


The Accura 4 can be connected to a computer or bivolt charger via the USB cable.

Note: Charging time using a bivolt charger is 4h.

6 OPERATION

6.1 Switching on
Press the key 1 for 3 seconds to switch on the equipment, and the following screen will
appear:

When turned on, the instrument will show on the display: the number of measurements sto-
red; the percentage of memory used; the time; the air volume in L/min and measurement progress
in percentage; the back pressure indication in kPa; and the battery charge in percentage.

Note: The Accura 4 has automatic shutdown for inativity after 5 minutes.

6.2 Main menu
To access the menu, press the selection key 4 , and the main menu will be displayed: name;
flow; sampler; files; erase; and system.

6.2.1 Name
Names the measurement before starting sampling. To name the evaluation use the keys 2 and
3 to switch between the lines, to change columns use the key 1 , to select the desired letter use
the key 4 . To finish, select the enter symbol next to the NUM character and confirm with key 4 .

6.2.2 Flow
Selects the pump operating flow range. In Stage 1 the Accura 4 operates from 0.3 L/min to
3.0 L/min. In Stage 2 the Accura 4 operates from 3.0 L/min up to 5.0 L/min. To select the operating
range use the keys 2 and 3 to switch between the stages and use the key 4 to confirm the
desired option.

6.2.3 Sampler
Indicates the type of sampler used in the collection performed. The following samplers can be
indicated: X (another type of sampler); CL600 (nylon cyclone); CL700 (aluminum cyclone); CL800
(thoracic fraction cyclone); and CL900 (inhalable dust). Use the keys 2 and 3 to switch between
the samplers and use the key 4 to confirm the desired option.

6.2.4 Files
Shows measurements saved in the Accura 4 pump's memory at a glance directly on the pump
screen. Use the keys 2 and 3 to switch between files and use the key 4 to view the desired file.
You can view the file name, date, time, sampler, logging interval, used flow, collected volume and
sampling time.

6.2.5 Erase
Erases all data from the memory. Select the enter option by pressing the key 4 , if you do not
want to erase the memory select the option X by pressing the key 1 .

Note: once confirmed this option, all data will be lost.

6.2.6 System
Adjust the date, time, logging interval in the report, language, screen brightness and the option
about.

6.2.6.1 Date
To adjust the date use the keys 2 and 3 , to confirm the value use the key 4 , repeat the
procedure for all parameters. When the adjustment is finished, it will return to the previous menu.

6.2.6.2 Time
To adjust the time use the keys 2 and 3 , to confirm the value use the key 4 , repeat the
procedure for all parameters. When the adjustment is finished, it will return to the previous menu.

6.2.6.3 Sample
It allows configuring the measurement recording sample. Use keys 2 and 3 to change the
value, and confirm with key 4.

6.2.6.4 Language
To change the language of the Accura 4 use the keys 2 and 3 , to confirm use the key 4 . The
equipment has the following language options: Português (Portuguese); Español (Spanish); English;
Deutsche (German) and Française (French).

6.2.6.5 Brightness
To change the brightness of the Accura 4 backlight use the keys 2 and 3 , to confirm use the
key 4.

6.2.6.6 About
Shows on the display (2) the instrument name, firmware version, QR code, serial number and
Criffer website.

6.3 Measurement

6.3.1 Start
To start a measurement with the Accura 4, press the 3 key to access the test menu. The first
parameter to be configured is the test time, with keys 2 and 3 adjust the time field, confirm with
key 4 . Now adjust the minute field with keys 2 and 3 , confirm the setting with key 4.

After adjusting the test time, the flow must be adjusted. It is necessary to wait 10 minutes for
the battery voltage to stabilize, adjust the desired flow with the keys 2 and 3 , reading the flow
directly on your flow calibrator, and confirm the adjustment with the key 4 . After the previous step,
adjust the value in L/min with keys 2 and 3 according to what is displayed on your flow calibrator,
and confirm with key 4.

After performing the initial flow adjustment in the previous step, press the key (5) to start.
The pump will start the motor at the configured flow rate, after 15 seconds of stabilization it will
start collecting data for the report and displaying the flow configured. During the measurement the
keyboard will be locked automatically, to unlock, execute the command sequence:
2 + 3 + 3 + 2 + 4
If an error occurs in the unlocking procedure, press the key 1 once and perform the unlock
procedure again.

6.3.2 Pause
To pause the measurement, unlock the keyboard, after pressing the key 3 to pause. To resume
the measurement press the key 3 .

6.3.3 Stop
To end a measurement before the programmed time, unlock the keypad and press key 2 .

6.4 Total dust evaluation


Total dust and/or metal fume evaluations should be performed with the Accura 4 sampling
pump with the SC-500 cassette holder, according to the image below:

6.5 Respirable dust avaluation
Respirable dust assessments should be done with the sampling pump Accura 4, SC-500
cassette holder, CT-300 cassette and 225-01-02 aluminum cyclone. They can also be used with
CL-600 nylon cyclone, as shown in the pictures below:

6.6 Evaluation of gases, vapors, mists and solvents


For low flow evaluations, the Accura 4 sampling pump plus the LF-500 low flow kit will be
required to evaluate gases, vapors, mists and solvents, as shown in the following image:

7 CRIFFER SUITE
7 CALIBRATION IN LABORATORY

Before delivery, all Criffer equipment undergoes a tracked calibration in its own laboratory. The
calibration certificate is issued in PDF format and sent via email.

It is recommended that the periodicity of the certification of calibration in the laboratory is a

7 CALIBRATION IN LABORATORY
8 WARRANTY

During the Accura 4 assembly process, several tests and verifications were carried out to
guarantee the quality of the equipment and the reliability of the calibrations. If the equipment fails
during its operation, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge according to the following terms:

a. Warranty coverage is one year;


b. The warranty service covers manufacturing problems such as: failure in physical components
(board, electronic circuits and cabinet), firmware and accessories;
c. The warranty does not cover failures resulting from misuse of the equipment, such as: falls,
operation in a corrosive/humid environment/excessive heat and scratches;
d. Equipment that had its security seal violated will not be covered by the warranty;
e. The equipment warranty will only be guaranteed after analysis of the equipment by the
manufacter. Warranty service must be requested to the manufacturer's technical support.
