09 Auto Shape
Simply draw your desired shape using any of our pen tools.

10 Tool Collection
How to display the pen box favorites when it has been
collected: Click on the upper left corner of the pen box.

quick tool switching. Tap the icon in the top right corner of
the pen options menu to add the current pen's settings to the
Tool Collection.

Tool Collection.
- Position the Tool Collection horizontally or vertically on the
screen for your convenience.
11 Color Palette
Customize the ten default colors in the pen case using
the Color Palette. Double-click on a color block to modify
its color values or pick a new color on the screen.
Tips:
Create custom color palettes by
adjusting the default colors and
tapping the icon. Long-press a
custom palette to delete or rename it.

12 Text Box
Click the text box icon on the far left side
of the pen box to enter the text box editing
mode to insert a text box for use. We have preset
a variety of Chinese and English fonts, and you
can also import your own favorite personalized
fonts for use. You can also set various font
styles: bold, italic, underline, etc.
13 Toolbar Options
Notein provides two toolbar options: Immersive Toolbar and Traditional Toolbar.
The Immersive Toolbar, along with the expandable/collapsible pen case, maximizes
the content display area. On the other hand, the Traditional Toolbar with the fixed
pen case is located at the top of the screen for more efficient tool switching, but it
sacrifices some content display space.
Tips:
Easily switch between the Immersive and
Traditional Toolbar by enabling or disabling the
"Immersive Toolbar" option in settings.

Part 3. Document Editing
14 Text Selection
Activate "Text Selection" in settings to easily select text within your document.
Just press and hold your finger or stylus on the text to see a light blue block that
lets you adjust the selection. From there, you can perform various actions like
copying, marking (highlighting, underlining, strikethrough), adding to the outline,
and even translating the text.
Tips:
- Long-pressing selected text for 1 second will create a duplicate,
which can be directly dragged to the "Clipboard" or moved across
screens:
1. In-app split-screen: Drag text to another document within the app.
2. System split-screen multitasking: Drag text to another document
within the app or to another app.
Note that only standard formatted PDF, PPT, or Word documents
support text selection. Scanned or image-based documents do not
support text selection.
15 Discover the
Left Sidebar
Swipe right from the left
edge or tap the top left
corner to see recent
documents. Drag
documents for easy in-
app split-screen use. Use
the search box to find
what you need quickly.

17 Thumbnail View
Clicking the opens the
Thumbnail View, providing a
visual overview of all document
pages. Easily select and perform
editing operations like copying,
deleting, or moving pages.
18 Layers
Click the "Layer" icon in the toolbar to see the layers of the current
document. All elements written/drawn by the pen tool, as well as inserted
pictures or text boxes, will appear in the layers. You can show/hide layers,
merge layers, move layer positions, rename layer names, etc.

19 Creating Bidirectional Links
In split-screen mode, use the lasso tool's "Screenshot Selection" feature to select
content and drag the screenshot to the other side. This creates bidirectional links,
allowing seamless navigation between multiple documents for easy access to
referenced content and an efficient note-taking experience.
20 Create Hyperlink
To create a hyperlink in Notein, click on the hyperlink icon in the Title Bar.
Then, select the area where you want to create the link and choose to link to a page
or a web address to complete the creation process. You can also create hyperlinks
by selecting text. Once a hyperlink is created, an icon will appear on the page. If you
prefer not to display this icon, you can turn off "Show Hyperlink Icon" in the settings,
which won't affect the link's functionality.
Tips:
If you need to edit or delete a link, simply click the
hyperlink icon in the Title Bar to enter edit mode. Click
the hyperlink icon in the top-right corner again to exit
edit mode. This feature allows for easy management
and modification of your hyperlinks, enhancing your
document's interactivity and navigation.

21 AI Assistant
You can turn on the AI assistant switch in the settings. After turning it on, a light
bulb icon will appear in the upper left corner. Clicking this icon will expand the
sidebar of the AI assistant. The first item is the summary function. This function will
upload document information to the AI reference automatically. Generate a
summary of the article.
Tips:
Currently, the AI assistant function
only supports responses in English,
and the document type only supports
PDF format.

22 Modifying Templates
Click the "Modify Template" icon to customize the current page's style. You
can adjust paper orientation, size, grid style, and color. Explore more templates in
the "Browse Template Library" option. To apply changes across the entire document,
select "Apply Globally." Use the "Restore" option to revert to the original page style.
Tips:
Please be aware that modifying the
template style will replace non-
handwritten content on externally
imported pages.
