GULAYAN SA PAARALAN
ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
GULAYAN SA PAARALAN PROGRAM is one of the best ways on how we can improve learning.
Why? Simply, utilizing school gardening for supplementary feeding program can be a tool in aiding the
major reasons why a child drops out of school- poverty, hunger, malnutrition. Aside from implementing
school gardening for the purpose of feeding programs is inculcating among our learners the values of good
health and nutrition, industry, love of labor and caring for others. Furthermore, this will teach them how to
improve their nutritional status, learning where food comes from and how planting promotes beautification
of their surroundings. It also serves as a good simulating activity in which they will learn leadership and
rendering good service. As a matter of fact, planting as one of the livelihood skills that learner will acquire
in school can be applied and replicated in their respected households. As they say, school is a miniature
society. Hence it is but the reflection of the community and at times the type of community relies of what is
being showcased in the school as such, the school gardening is a good example. It introduces to the
community small scale food production which will somehow elevate their perspective about food security,
health awareness and income generating projects. It will raise the level of the public consciousness on the
nutritional dimensions and economic benefits.
The GULAYAN SA PAARALAN PROGRAM aims to promote proper nutrition and mitigate hunger
among learners. This will help the learners develop their body and mind actively which is why all schools
were encouraged to implement the program.
To ensure the sustainability of the program, constant monitoring was done with the help of the
designated school coordinators. District evaluation was conducted headed by Ma’am Emily N. Tomas,
EdD the Schools District Supervisor and Joel A. Baybado, the District GPP Coordinator and schools with
the best gulayan sa paaralan implementation was recognized and awarded.
The Gulayan sa Paaralan shall be implemented in every school regardless of ample or limited area.
Let us work to improve and increase vegetable production in school by teaching the learners the methods of
sustainable production of food which are applicable to their homes and important in honing their skills in
agriculture. Let us utilize school gardening in improving the education of the young ones through
supplementary feeding programs and garden sale to fund necessary activities. Let our school be the model of
cleanliness and greenness in our community.
