Winter Holiday Homework

General Guidelines:
● All work should be neat and handwritten by you only.
● Do your work yourself with little or no help from elders.
● Do your work according to the timelines given.

Integrated Projects - English & Math :

Select a city and collect the data of maximum and minimum temperature recorded for the duration of past
3 years during summer and winter.
● Represent the collected data (seasonal variation in temperature) by using Bar graph or Pictorial
graph or Pie graph.
● Interpret the graph drawn by you.
● Write a report on your own which focuses on how the conservation of our environment is
important to maintain the temperature of earth and save the living organisms from global
warming.

Integrated Project - Social and Science:

Combustion of different fuels and burning of various other materials are causing global warming and
have a lot of detrimental effects on the earth.
● As an environmentalist, can you suggest a few ways to reduce the level of pollution?
● Collect some relevant pictures and write about the hazards of environmental pollution on the
health of human beings refering the collected pictures.

Computer Science:

Create a website of your family tree (Grandparents, Parents, you and your siblings).
● Mention the details of each member on a different web page.
● A user should be able to navigate from each page to any other page.
● Take care of design guidelines to make sure it is easy to use and visually appealing.

Art & Craft: Colour Collision

Material(s) Required

● Drawing books or chart papers (11 x 14 inches approx)


● Pencil
● Eraser
● Watercolours
● Paintbrush

Procedure

1. Draw an arrangement of organic shapes that are related to one another in shape but do not touch
each other on a paper.
2. The design should reach at least one portion of the four edges of the paper.
3. Use light pencil lines to draw the shapes so that it does not show up in the painting later.
4. Begin to colour the drawing from the centre by painting half of a shape red following the colour
wheel and the other half orange.
5. Move to the next shape.
6. Paint the first half of the shape orange and then use the next colour on the wheel for the other half.
7. Continue this and paint the arrangement using all 12 colours in the colour wheel, starting over
again with red if needed.
