I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the learners should be able to;
a. Use clues to answer questions, clarify understanding and justify predictions
before, during and after reading (titles, pictures, etc.) MELCs-Based

Okay! This game is called “Picture
Puzzle”

Direction: The teacher will divide the class


into two groups, then give the groups
different cut-out pictures for them to solve.
The first group to solve the puzzle will be
the first to answer the question given by
the teacher.

Wow! The first group already solved the


puzzle.
Now group 1, what did you see in the Sir! We saw a girl and a boy reading!
picture?

Very good! They are reading.


Why do you say that they are reading? Sir! It’s because they’re holding a book!
Very good! Good job group 1!

Okay, group 2 are you finish solving the


puzzle? Yes sir!

Sir! We saw kids playing basketball!

C. Presentation of the Lesson


Class, do you have any idea what we are
going to discuss this morning? No sir!
Alright, if that so, I will present our topic for
this morning. Our topic for today is all
about clues.

Do you have any idea what a clue is? No sir!


As you notice in the picture you solved
before, you can actually answer the
question I have given to you. It’s because
of the clues that you’ve seen in the
picture.
For example, in picture 1, the clues are
the books, and in picture 2, the clues are
the ball and the court. That’s why you
answered the question faster. It’s
because of the clues you’ve seen in the
picture.
Understand? Yes sir!

D. Discussion
What is a clue?

Clue - A clue is a piece of evidence that


helps solve a problem. It is a hint or guide (The students will listen to the
on how you can identify the problem or discussion.)

solution. It is helpful in defining unfamiliar
word, phrase, image, idea and action.
Example:
Look at the pictures carefully.

E. Application
Now, do you want to play a game again?
Okay, let’s have a game. Yes sir! Yes sir!
This game is called “Charade”

Direction: The teacher will divide the class


into two groups, and each group will have
a representative. The representative of
each group will come in front, and the
teacher will give them words that they will
act out. The rest of their members are
going to guess what they are acting in.
Each correct guess is equivalent to one
point. The first group to reach 5 points will
be the winner.

Understand? Yes sir!

(The teacher will start the game until the


winner is declared.)

Class! Did you enjoy the game? Yes sir!

F. Generalization

Now I will be asking you a questions to


know if you really understand the lesson.

What was our lesson again? Sir! Our lesson is all about Clues!

What is meant by clue again? Clue is a piece of evidence that helps


solve a problem.
