FUNCTIONS
The VD detects real-time queue length and gives an over-length alarm to Signal Controller.

Statistics Function
Ø Traffic volume/flow
The number of motor vehicles passing through a certain section of the road in a specified time period.
Ø Headway
The time interval between the head of two consecutive vehicles passing through a certain same section
in a queue of vehicles traveling on the same lane. The unit is seconds.
Ø Spatial Headway
The distance between the head of front and followed vehicles in the same lane. The unit is meter.
Ø Time occupancy
On a certain road section, the ratio of the cumulative value of vehicle passing time to the observation
time, expressed as a percentage.
Real-time detection data shared through RJ45 interface(TCP/UDP) to other equipment like traffic signal

WIRING DETAILS
There are two Communication ways between Video Vehicle Detector and Traffic Signal Controller:
1. Through protocol communication, RS485/RJ45 interface directly.
(Multi data types like presence, flow, speed, headway, etc.)
2. Through I/O interface, in which situation there shall be an interface board to transform RS485 or
TCP/IP data from video vehicle detector to I/O signal to signal controller.

Note: DC5V power adaptor B is not a must to connect, only when there is no power in signal controller
inputs circuits design and when need high low-level voltage outputs signal from Interface Board.
If just normal switching value signal, no need to use DC5V Power Adaptor B.

1pcs longer for tighten the long tube support and top bracket;

Installation
Step 1:
Twist the long tube support until see another screw hole, then use the longer screw to fix it, thus the top
bracket and long support tightened.

Step 2:
Fix video detector on the top bracket with 2 screws.
Step 3:
Fix the waterproof casing with stainless steel clamps onto the long tube support.
Do not block the tube support screw fixing location
Step 4:
Open the waterproof casing:
# Put DC12V power adaptor inside.
# Connect power output joint with video detector power input.
# Connect network cable with RJ45 interface.
# Cut the power adaptor plug and connect it with 220VAC input grid power cable,
then protect the joint with high-voltage waterproof tape.

Step 5:
Put the cover back and fix it with 2 screws at two sides.
Step 6:
Fix the long tube base with CARDAN bracket (2 layer or 3 layers) as below.
Step 7:
Fix the CARDAN bracket on pole with stainless steel clamps (at least 2).

Attention:
Adjust the viewing angle of the video vehicle detector acc. to the real-time video displaying in PC, so
that all detected lanes and vehicles driving in those lanes can be covered in the video as well as the
corresponding virtual loops.
