3. Missions of the Civil Engineering Department:

M1:- To impart latest technological trends to the Civil Engineering students


through continuous industry-institute interaction and excellent teaching
learning environment.

M2:- To provide well equipped laboratory and classroom facilities for


imparting quality education and practical knowledge to the students in the
field of Civil Engineering.

M3: To arrange for a team of faculties that excels and specializes in the field
of Civil Engineering.

M4: To develop the students with high ethical values for taking
responsibilities and leadership roles in professional career to serve the society
and nation.

4.1 Programme Outcomes of Diploma in Civil Engineering:


1. Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics,
science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the
engineering problems.
2. Problem analysis: Identify and analyse well-defined engineering problems using
codified standard methods.
3. Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical
problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified
needs.
4. Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools
and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
5. Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply
appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical
practices.
6. Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a
team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-
defined engineering activities.
7. Life-long learning: Ability to analyse individual needs and engage in updating in the
context of technological changes.

The students will be able to:
PSO-1: - Attain ability to perform planning, design, preparing estimate & costing and execute
all kind of Civil Engineering projects.

5. Course Objectives: Following are the objectives of this course:


 To acquire knowledge of construction management aspects.
 To acquire knowledge on various types of resources and its optimum uses.
 To develop the idea of quality assurance and quality control for project plan, from defining
and confirming the project goals and objectives.
 To develop an understanding the disaster management for controlling the losses of
livelihood as well as assets during and after disaster.
