CHAPTER I: INTRODUCTION
Chowking is one of the known chinese restaurant that was
originated to Philippines by Jollibee Foods Corporation. They are a
western style food chain. The menu is consist of chinese cuisine foods
mostly noodle soup, dim sum and rice bowls with toppings. This
restaurant chains more than 400 branches all over Philippines and most
of it are located in major shopping malls. As years pass by, they began to
compete with other famous fast food restaurant. However, question run
in mind such as; Do they satisfy the needs of their customers? Do they
maintain the quality of their products and services? Since Chowking
became more famous nowadays, the researchers pick the place that
near the school and has a lot of customers around and it was located on
Hilltop Lagro Quezon City. The researchers chose the location because
students experience the poor services that Chowking restaurant has.
The Chowking branch doesn't have any problem when it comes to
customers but the main problem is the restaurant's poor services and
the cleanliness of the surroundings. Since chowking is having this kind
problem and it bothered customers, there are possibilities that if this

continues customers won't be satisfied. Based on the researchers
observation, the restaurant is lacking of staffs and employees that can
take care of this matter. Once Chowking maintain the services that the
staff gave to their customers, the restaurant will gain more customers
and they will be more satisfied. Hiring more employees to maintain the
services and the cleanliness of the surroundings can help them attract
more customers. If they will be able to maintain providing good
customer service, customers will surely be satisfied and they will keep
on coming back to the restaurant.

the area. The possible cause for this is that they have a limited space
from which to accommodate their customers and they have not
thoroughly managed their sanitation in the area.

understanding of opportunity that can be availed and the threat that
the company is facing. SWOT for Chowking Food Corporation is a
powerful tool of analysis as it provide a thought to uncover and exploit
the opportunities that can be used to increase and enhance company’s
operations. In addition, it also identifies the weaknesses of the
organization that will help to be eliminated and manage the threats that
would catch the attention of the management.
This strategy helps the company to make any strategy that
would differentiate the company from competitors, so that the
organization can compete successfully in the industry. The strengths
and weaknesses are obtained from internal organization. Whereas, the
opportunities and threats are generally related from external
environment of organization. Moreover, it is also called Internal-
External Analysis.

THEORITICAL FRAMEWORK
shows the theoretical framework for customers’ views of service
quality with five SERVQUAL dimensions. These dimensions are tangibles
(T), reliability (REL), responsiveness (RES), assurance (A), and empathy
(E). Moreover, other factors such as service quality (SQ), culture/social
influence (CI), COVID-19 protocols (CP), pricing (P), food quality (FQ),
and customer satisfaction (C) have been investigated in the current
study.

As part of the CSR, the SERVQUAL dimensions are presented to be
individual factors that should be considered by service providers such as
fast-food chains. It was highlighted from the study of Gimeno-Arias et al.
[26] that the stakeholders such as the employees should be able to
provide a thorough and reflective output by their service to enhance
the satisfaction among consumers. With this, an increase in industry
value will be evident. Thus, the need to assess the SERVQUAL
dimensions as an effect of CSR should be considered.
