Do: Close your eyes and cover your ears for five seconds.
Ask: What did you hear?
Do. Close your eyes again but keep your ears open this time.
4.1 Introductory

Do: Appreciate their answers.
Do: When you closed your eyes and tried to listen, you heard a lot of sounds, didn’t you?

Ask: Can you name some animals that you see in a farm? Do you know what sounds they make?
Lets us make the sounds of some of the animals by singing the song “ Old MacDonald”.
Listen to your teacher sing it. Sing along with your teacher afterward. Listen carefully to the sound
that each animal makes.

Now, sing the song again. This time, replace “some chicks” and “a chick-chick” with the following:
A cow -a moo-moo
A bird – a tweet-tweet
A dog – an arf-arf
A cat- a meow-meow

The distinct characteristic of sounds is called timbre. Some timbre may be high or low, light or
heavy.
Animals are not the only ones that can make sounds. We can, too.
Our hands and feet can make light and heavy sounds by:

Sounds in nature also make light and heavy sounds. Modes of transportation makes light and
heavy sounds. Even machines make light and heavy sounds, too.
Things around us make different sounds. Sounds are different because they vary in timbre. Timbre
is the distinct characteristics of sounds.
Group Activity:
Teacher will divide the class into three groups. Each group will be given an activity card from the
teacher.

Group A: Use red crayon to color the things that make a high sounds. Use a yellow crayon to color

Group B:You are going to move with high and low sounds while singing “The Farmer in the Dell”.
Group C: Do the following movements using your body parts that can make high and low sounds.
