i) This question paper has 5 sections. All questions are compulsory.
ii) Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each.
iii) Section B has 5 questions carrying 2 marks each with internal choice in 2 questions.
iv) Section C has 6 questions carrying 3 marks each with internal choice in 2 questions.
v) Section D has 4 questions carrying 5 marks each with internal choice in 2 questions.
vi) Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (4 marks each) with sub
parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively. An internal choice has been
provided in the 2 marks questions of this section.

26. Prove that √5 is irrational.

27. If 𝛼 and 𝛽 are zeroes of the quadratic polynomial 4x2 + 4x + 1, then form a quadratic polynomial
whose zeroes are 2𝛼 and 2𝛽.

28. Seven times a two-digit number is equal to four times the number obtained by reversing the
order of its digits. If the difference of the digits is 3, find the number.

32. Solve for x : 9x2 – 6a2x + (a4 – b4) = 0.

A motor boat whose speed is 20 km per hour in still water, takes one hour more to go 48 km
upstream than to return downstream to the same spot. Find the speed of the stream.

33. Diagonals AC and BD of a trapezium ABCD with AB ǁ CD intersect each other at point O.

34. A cylindrical vessel with internal radius 5 cm and height 10.5 cm is full of water. A solid cone

A sector of a circle of radius 12 cm has the angle 120°. It is rolled such that two bounding radii
are joined together to form a cone. Find the volume of the cone. (Use 𝜋 = 3.14)

36. A park is designed in the form of circle as shown.
At the centre of circle there is fountain.
The entry gate is shown at A.
Considering radius of the circle as 10 units,
coordinates of fountain (O) of the circle is
(2a – 1, 7) and of point A as (-3, -1).
a) If radius of circle is 10 units then find the possible value/values of a.
b) Find the distance AB.
c) If we consider point A lies on x – axis then what is the possible value of x-coordinate of A,
take a = 2.

If we consider, point B lies on y – axis then what is the possible value of y-coordinate of A,
take a = 2.

37. Our country can be a manufacturing hub due to cheap labour cost and a very high number of
skilled technical man powers which can contribute to cheaper and higher production The
manufacturing of mobile phone sets production unit increase by a fixed number every year.
It manufactures 4,20,000 sets in the fifth year and, 600,000 sets in 8th year.

a) Find the production in the first year.


b) Find the common difference.
c) What will be the total production in the first four years?

38. A group of students of Class 10 visited India gate on an educational trip. The teacher and
students had interest in history as well. The teacher narrated that India gate official name Delhi
Memorial, originally called All India War Memorial, monumental sandstone arch in New Delhi
decided to the troops of British India who died in wars fought between 1914 and 1919.
The teacher also said that India Gate which is located at the eastern end of the Rajpath
(formally called the Kingsway), is about 138 feet (42 meters) in height.

a) What is the angle of elevation if a student is standing at a distance of 42m away from the
monument?
b) He want to see the tower at an angle of 60° so he wants to know the distance where
he should stand and hence find the distance.
c) If the angle of elevation of the sun is 60°, then find the height of the vertical tower that
will cast a shadow of length 20 meters.

The ratio of the length of a rod and its shadow is 1:1. Find the angle of elevation of
the sun.
