Practical Approaches of Image Building
• It’s a process, don’t expect instant results.
• However, just being conscious of the way
you see yourself is a move in the right
direction.
1. Stop being a Perfectionist
• Accept that nothing in life is perfect.
• Mistakes will be made and that is all a
part of growth.
• When you make a mistake, accept it
and learn from it.
• It requires humility and faith that you
will do better next time.
2. Control Your Thoughts :
• We have this inner critic inside our
heads that we sometimes take too
seriously.
• Listen to your inner critic, but take
its opinions with a grain of salt.
• Don’t believe its judgment readily.
3. Assess Yourself Honestly :
• This may be where you’ll experience
pushback from yourself.
• It’s difficult for people to accept their
weaknesses and shortcomings
objectively.
• But if you learn how to see yourself for
all that you are, you will see that along
with the negatives, you have positive
and lovable traits which can be
developed and highlighted.
4. Change What You Can and Let Go of
What You Cant :
• When you see yourself for who you really
are, you will see the areas of
improvement, and you can build on your
weak traits.
• Humility is a crucial factor in learning.
• Only those who can accept that they don’t
know everything will actively seek
wisdom.
5. Recognize and Reward yourself :
• Don’t Compare Yourself to Others. It’s hard not
to, right?
• But when our self-image is based on how we
compare to other people, we will be in a
constant state of frustration.
• There will always be someone better, more
beautiful, stronger, smarter, and richer than we
are.
• Build your self-image based on what YOU have
accomplished so far. Compete only with you.
• Strive to be better than you were yesterday.
• Daily Affirmations: Remind yourself every
day of the things that you appreciate about
yourself. The smallest accomplishments
should be given the limelight in your mind.
• Surround Yourself With Supportive
People: Have a group of friends who really
appreciate you, and can provide you with
constructive and honest feedback.
• Stop looking for praise and words of
encouragement from others and start giving
them to yourself.

Self Awareness
• Self-awareness is the ability to recognize
and understand one's own thoughts,
emotions, behaviours, and experiences.
• It involves being conscious of your own
identity, including your strengths,
weaknesses, values, beliefs, and desires.
• Self-awareness is a fundamental aspect of
human consciousness and is crucial for
personal growth, emotional intelligence,
and effective decision-making.
Types of Self Awareness
1.Internal Self-awareness:
• This involves understanding your own
emotions, feelings, and thoughts.
• It includes recognizing your emotional
responses to various situations and
understanding why you react the way you do.
• Internal self-awareness allows you to better
manage your emotions and reactions.
2. External Self-awareness:
• This involves understanding how others
perceive you.
• It includes being aware of the impact your
actions and behaviours have on those
around you.
• External self-awareness is essential for
building healthy relationships and
effective communication.
Developing Self Awareness
1.Practice mindfulness:
Mindfulness meditation is a powerful tool
for developing self-awareness. It involves
paying attention to your thoughts,
emotions, and bodily sensations without
judgment. Regular mindfulness practice
can help you become more attuned to your
inner experiences.
2. Keep a journal:
Maintain a daily journal where you can
write down your thoughts, feelings, and
experiences. This can help you identify
patterns in your emotions and behaviours
over time.
3. Seek feedback:
Ask for honest feedback from trusted
friends, family members, or colleagues.
They may provide valuable insights into
your strengths and weaknesses that you
might not see yourself.
4.Self-reflection:
Set aside time for self-reflection.
Consider your values, beliefs, and life
goals. Reflect on your past experiences
and how they have shaped you. Asking
yourself deep, introspective questions
can be illuminating.
5. Emotional intelligence:
Develop your emotional intelligence
(EQ) by recognizing and understanding
your emotions. Practice labelling your
emotions and exploring their root
causes. This can help you manage your
emotional responses more effectively.
6.Identify your strengths and
weaknesses:
Take stock of your skills, talents, and
areas where you excel. Equally
important, acknowledge your
weaknesses and areas in which you
need improvement. Understanding your
strengths and weaknesses helps you
make informed decisions.
7. Set personal goals:
Define clear and meaningful personal
and professional goals. Having goals
can provide direction and motivation,
and it can help you assess your
progress and priorities.
8. Gain a fresh perspective:
Step outside of your comfort zone and
expose yourself to new experiences
and challenges. Meeting new people,
traveling, and trying new activities can
broaden your perspective and enhance
your self-awareness.
9. Practice self-compassion:
Be kind and understanding to yourself, just
as you would be to a friend. Avoid self-
criticism and negative self-talk, as it can
hinder self-awareness.
10.Seek professional help:
If you're struggling with self-awareness or
dealing with significant emotional issues,
consider seeking the guidance of a
therapist or counsellor who can provide
you with tools and insights to enhance your
self-awareness.
