I also achieved an exceptional 99.6% score in CAT, a common admission test for elite business schools in India and scored 750 in my GMAT. My first experience in the business world was rather humble and constrained. It began with something as simple as helping friends expand and price their food delivery start-up, which set me on the path of learning how to build analytical skills and demonstrate leadership abilities. I then realized that I could monetize my work, which led me to join Capgemini, a technology consultancy, as an Associate Consultant. There, I learned and implemented the usage of technology in problem-solving. Later, I moved to Games24x7, a casino product-gaming unicorn, to gain insights into how to anticipate problems and produce various alternatives in a fast-paced environment. Diverse experiences broaden one’s mindset and help in finding more alternatives to a given problem. Upon reviewing the job description, I was thrilled to see the similarities between trading data analytics and gaming data analytics. Both domains require the ability to extract valuable insights from vast amounts of data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions based on the analysis. My experience in the gaming industry has equipped me with the skills to handle terabytes of data, perform in- depth analysis, and provide actionable recommendations to improve strategies. I believe these skills are transferable to the challenges faced in quantitative trading, and I am eager to bring my expertise to the dynamic and fast-paced nature of Optiver.
