2. Product Warnings:

2.1 Read instruction manual before use. Operation of this nozzle without understanding the manual and
receiving proper training can be dangerous and is a misuse of this equipment.
2.2 Nozzle must be mated to a hose line with matched threads. Mismatched or damaged threads may
cause nozzle to leak or uncouple from hose under pressure and could cause injury.
2.3 An inadequate supply of nozzle pressure and/or flow will cause an ineffective stream and can result in
injury, death or loss of property.
2.4 Failure to restrain nozzle reaction can cause firefighter injury from loss of footing and/or stream
protection. Nozzle reaction will vary as supply conditions change: such as opening or closing other
nozzles, hose line kinks, changes in pump settings, etc. Changes in spray pattern or flushing will also
affect nozzle reaction. The nozzle operator must always be positioned to restrain the nozzle reaction in
the event of those changes.
2.5 Injury from whipping can occur. If nozzle gets out of control or away from operator, retreat from
nozzle immediately. Do not attempt to regain control of nozzle while flowing water.
2.6 Fire streams are capable of injury and damage. Do not direct water stream to cause injury or damage
to persons or property.
2.7 There are a wide variety of foam concentrates. Each user is responsible for verifying that any foam
concentrate chosen to be used with this unit has been tested to assure that the foam obtained is
suitable for the purpose intended.
2.8 Use of compressed air foam (CAF) with hand held nozzles can cause sudden surges in nozzle reaction
force resulting in risk of injury or death from loss of footing or hose whipping.

3. General Instructions:

3.1 Maximum nozzle operating pressure is 14 bar for 2365, 2366, 2366E, 2368 and 40 bar for 2360 and
2361.
3.2 Optimum flow is achieved at 85 PSI (6 bar) 600 kpa at the nozzle.
3.3 At pressures below 85 PSI (6 bar) the nozzle will deliver reduced flow and reach. Adequate flows and
pressure should be maintained for relevant fire conditions.
3.4 Always open and close shut-off valve slowly. Sudden opening or closing of shutoff valves can cause
water hammer and subsequent damage to hose or couplings.
3.5 Do not use the nozzle on electrical fires.
3.6 Do not over-tighten the nozzle when connecting to fitting.
3.7 Do not alter the nozzle in any manner.
3.8 For use with water and fire fighting foam only.

4. Installation Instructions:

4.1 Connect the nozzle to a hose line with the compatible threads. Mismatched or damaged threads may
cause nozzle to leak or uncouple under pressure and could cause injury.
4.2 Insert the hose coupling into the nozzle inlet swivel until it is completely adapted to against the gasket
at the end of the swivel.
4.3 Initiate the first pull of the retractable foam aspiration sleeve to loosen it for quick and easy extension
thereafter for 2366E.
4.4 Grip the handle steadily before pumping water in the nozzle.

5. Operating Instructions:

5.1 Open and close the shutoff slowly at all times.

5.2 To open the nozzle pull the “D" handle towards the inlet.
5.3 To close the nozzle push the “D" handle towards the outlet.
5.4 Do not keep the shutoff handle in half-way position, as when the ball valve is partially open, it will
cause turbulence and adversely affects stream quality.
5.5 To change the spray pattern: rotate the bumper clockwise (right) for a straight stream and counter
clockwise (left) for a wide homogenous fog pattern.
5.6 To adjust flow setting to the desired flow, rotate the flow selection ring. The nozzle will flow the rated
amount when the pressure at the nozzle is 6 bar subject to the nozzle in use.
5.7 To remove trapped debris in the nozzle, rotate the flow selection ring to the FLUSH position to open
up the nozzle, allowing debris to pass through.
5.8 Large amounts or pieces of debris may be unflushable and can cause reduced flow and compromise
nozzle performance. In the event of a blockage, retreat to a safe area and uncouple the nozzle to
remove debris.
5.9 When using 2366E for pre-mixed foam discharge, slide the aspirating sleeve portion of the nozzle
forward to activate foam aspirating function. Rotate the bumper when the sleeve extended to control
reach and aspiration. If an immediate wide protective fog pattern is needed, the sleeve can be
retracted instantly to its regular position.

6. Maintenance Instructions:

6.1 Nozzles should be inspected before and after each use to ensure all parts are in a satisfactory working
condition.

2360MED2310R0UG 27/10/2023 Protek Manufacturing Corp. is a ISO 9001 Registered Company

6.2 If any one of the following problems are encountered while in use the nozzle should be withdrawn
from service and repaired:
(1) Controls that are inoperable or difficult to operate
(2) Excessive wear
(3) Water leakage from joints
(4) Broken spinning teeth
(5) Loose or missing screws
6.3 Periodically flushing the nozzle with clean water and remove any built up of dirt from the exterior of
the nozzle.
6.4 Factory lubrication applied to the nozzle during production is sufficient and the lubricant used has
excellent washout resistance and long term performance. Regularly check the moving parts of the
nozzle for smooth and free operation, and signs of damage. If the nozzle is operating correctly, then
no additional lubrication is required. Any nozzle that is not operating correctly should be immediately
removed from service.
6.5 Regularly check any external screws for tightness, tighten as required with the addition of a good
quality thread locker (i.e. Loctite262).
