Every first week of September of every year is declared as the National Crime
Legal Basis Prevention Week pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 461 dated August
31, 1994. All government agencies and instrumentalities of government are
enjoined to evolve and implement projects and activities that focus on
prevention as an approach in combating criminality.

Rationale Crime Prevention Week raises awareness of crime prevention strategies and
educates individuals, groups and organizations about what they can do to
improve safety in their communities.
In line with this, Don Manuel Rivera Memorial Integrated National High
School acknowledges the importance of crime prevention week and will be
conducting a Symposium on Crime Prevention Week for the students, teachers
at the school spearheaded by SSLG Officers with the end goal of preventing
crime and build peace.
Objective a. To inform students and teachers about the diverse forms of
manifestation of various crimes.
b. To increase the level of awareness amongst learners
c. To inform learners on the legal consequences of committing crime.
Expected Outputs/ a. Encourage students to take responsibility for their part in maintaining
Outcomes safe school environments.
b. Learn the true essence of preventing crime and understand its
significance in engaging learners to become social-conscious
individuals.
c. Accomplishment report.

symposium with a theme “Addressing Crime Prevention at the Local, National and Global Levels on
September 15, 2023 at Don Manuel Rivera Memorial Integrated National High School covered court.

This activity aim to:
