    (Commutative Property of Multiplication)
    I. Objectives
    At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
    a. Explain the commutative properties of multiplication;
    b. Implement the commutative property of multiplication in real situation;
    c. Alter a multiplication problem to a commutative property.

    II. Subject Matter


    a. Topic: Multiplication of Whole Numbers
    b. Sub – Topic: Commutative Property of Multiplication
    c. Reference: Mathematics 3 pages 119 – 122; Mathematics 3 Teacher’s Guide
    pages 128 - 130
    d. Materials: creative instructional materials, printed pictures, meta cards, activity
    sheets

    A. Preparatory Activity
    1. Preparations
    a. Let the pupils stand for a prayer
    b. Checking of attendance
    c. Checking of Assessment
    2. Review
    Ask the pupils about the previous lesson

    B. Developmental Activities
    1. Motivation / Drill
    a. The teacher will introduce the lesson objectives
    b. The pupils will be asked to recite the multiplication table in numbers 3, 4,
    and 5.
    2. Presentation
    a. The teacher will be introducing the topic which is the commutative
    property of multiplication.
     The commutative property is a math rule that says that the order
    in which we multiply numbers does not change the product, or it is
    when switching the order of the multiplicand and the multiplier
    does not change the product.
     For example, in the equation 7 x 3 = 3 x 7, both problems result to
    21.
    3. Discussion
    a. The teacher will show the pupils a set of pictures of different fruits that the
    pupils will be asked to count;

    b. The pupils will be asked to multiply the fruits to one another;


    c. The teacher will interchange the factors and ask the pupils for the answer;
    4. Generalization
    a. What are the missing numbers in the equation? What are the product of
    these equations?
     9x2=2x9
    = 18
     3x6=6x3
    = 18
    5. Application
    “Flash Game”
    In this game, all pupils are the players but they will be representing their
    groups which are their respective rows. Every pupil will take turn to go to
    the board and write the problem that the teacher will dictate in an equation
    form. They will then answer the problem and whoever answers first
    receives a point. The fastest group to solve all the problems are the
    winners.
    IV. Evaluation
    Answer the activities that follow.
    Test I. Write the missing numbers.
    1. 3 x 6 = __ x 3
    2. 5 x __ = 1 x 5
    3. __ x 9 = 9 x 4
    4. __ x 4 = 4 x 3
    5. 5 x 10 = 10 x __

    Test II. Give the answer to the following problems.
