1. Scope and Objective of the Course: The course is meant as an introduction to linear algebra
and the theory of functions of complex variables and their applications.

2. Course Description: System of linear equations, Vector spaces, Basis and the dimension of
vector spaces, Linear transformations, Range and kernel, Eigenvalues and eigenvectors, the
function of complex variables, Continuity, Differentiability, Elementary functions, Complex
Integration, Taylor and Laurent series expansions, Calculus of residues and its applications.

(i) No make-up will be given in quizzes under any circumstances.

(ii) Makeup of other evaluation components (Mid Sem. and Comprehensive Exam) will be
granted only in genuine cases. Permission must be taken in advance except in extreme
cases.

(iii) Makeup of the makeup exam is not allowed under any circumstances.

(iv) Students must write their quizzes in their tutorial sections ONLY. If a student writes
any of the quiz in a section, different from their tutorial section, then it may not be
evaluated.
