PHYSICAL LAYER:
The physical layer within networking handles critical tasks fundamental to communication between
devices:

1-Medium Specification:
This layer determines the specifics of the transmission medium, whether it's cables (like twisted pair,
coaxial, or fiber optic) or wireless frequencies. It outlines how data travels through these mediums.

2. Data Representation:
Encoding methods transform digital bits into suitable electrical, optical, or radio signals for
transmission. Various techniques, like modulation, help translate digital data into physical signals and
back again.

3. Transmission Speed:
Known as data rate or bandwidth, this aspect defines the maximum speed at which data can be sent or
received over the network medium.

4. Signal Quality:
Ensuring signals maintain strength and quality across the medium is crucial. The physical layer
determines signal strength, noise levels, and methods to minimize interference.

5. Connectivity and Structure:

It dictates how devices are connected and positioned in a network, encompassing aspects like connector
types, network topology (like star or ring), and physical port connections.

6. Bit Sync:
This layer synchronizes data transmission between devices for accurate communication.

7. Transmission Modes:
Defining modes like simplex, half-duplex, and full-duplex guides the direction and manner of data
transmission.
