STUDENTS RESOURCES: SOFTWARE AND APPS

USER GUIDE

To access the educational software, learning tools, and campus services, the student must have an
account in the Microsoft 365 Portal which shall be created in the next business day after the student’s
enrollment.

The M365 portal holds a variety of systems and applications using a single set of login credentials. The
following are applications available :
- Microsoft 365
- Canvas LMS
- Active Directory: Login Credentials for Computer Laboratories and E-Library
- Google Workspace Applications, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and
Collaborative Productivity Tools Such use Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, etc.
- Student Portal
- Microsoft Office: Online Versions and Licensed Desktop Versions
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft One Drive
- Microsoft Stream

Getting Started with Microsoft 365 Portal

1. Go to Microsoft 365 website: https://www.office.com


2. Log in using the following credentials:

3. On the first login, M365 will require the user to set up his own password.
4. Provide the new password and click ‘Next’.
5. Set the recovery email and mobile number for account recovery. The user may choose at least
one (1) recovery account, which may be an alternative email address or a mobile phone
number.
Note: Do not skip this process. This contact information is needed in case the user forgets his M365 login
credentials.

6. The user shall be prompted upon the successful set of account and login credentials.

Change Password

1. Sign in to Microsoft 365 with your account.


2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner, near your profile picture.
3. Click Change your password from the list of options.

4. Type your old password, and then type a new password and confirm it.
5. Click Submit.

Forgot Password

1. Go to the M365 login page, enter your username, and click next.
2. On the next screen, click forgot my password
3. You will be redirected to a page to enter your user ID (email address) and a CAPTCHA to enter the
characters in the image

4. Enter your email address and the CAPTCHA text and click Next.
5. Select whether you want to verify via phone or email. (Note: You should have set your recovery
number or email first before you can recover your password).
6. Type in the phone number you used to create the verification and click Text.
7. You will receive a 6-digit number on your phone, type that into the box and click Next.
8. Now enter your new password twice and click finish.

Account Retention
The student's M365 Portal account and all the applications linked to it are only active upon enrollment.
These accounts shall be immediately terminated on the succeeding term of non-enrollment. These users
include graduates, outgoing transferees, and students who took leave of absence.

Terms of Use
The students must use these access and services solely for the purposes of learning and academic
activities. Any form of misuse that might compromise the school's reputation, processes, systems,
infrastructure, or any damages that it may cause to any third party shall be dealt with accordingly under
the school's policies and guidelines.

Microsoft 365 Portal Dashboard


Upon successful login, the user shall be redirected to the Home Page of the M365 Portal. From the
sidebar menu click on the “Apps” icon.

The page will show the palette of applications with the following learning applications and services:

To access the Learning Management System, click on this icon:

The user shall be directed to the Canvas Dashboard.

Active Directory: Login Credentials for Computer Laboratories and E-Library
To login to the desktop computers in computer laboratories, engineering laboratories, academic
resource centers, and e-library, enter the M365 username and account:

Google Workspace Applications


To access the GMail - the school’s official email service, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Collaborative
Productivity Tools Such use Google Docs, Google Sheet, Google Slides, etc, click on this icon:

The user shall be directed to the Google Workspace Dashboard.

Google Workspace Terms Use and Policy

Storage Limit for Students: 20 GB

Policy:

1. Users must only store files related to academics, research, and the school’s official business and
operations.
2. Only enrolled students may use the Google Workspace services. Files and accounts of graduates
and students without enrollment in a specific trimester shall be deleted and deactivated.
3. The College has the absolute right to manage, modify, and delete accounts and files of their
users under their Google Workspace Education account.

Student Portal

The Student Portal is one of the online services of FEU Alabang, FEU Diliman, and FEU Tech for their
enrolled students in a specific term and school year. This serves as the gateway for the students to view
their collegiate records such as grades, class schedules, assessments, statements of accounts, and
course offerings. This also allows the students to preregister or reserve their courses online.

User Permission
Only enrolled students are allowed to use this platform. Alumni and previous students’ accounts
are automatically disabled and can no longer access the portal during the trimester of their
inactivity.

Profile

This contains the student’s basic academic information and enrolment status. To check if you are
officially enrolled, Registration Status must be automatically set to- Total Units + ‘Enrolled’. Otherwise,
you need to register for courses with at least 12 units and settle the required payments.

Certificate of Registration

To view your class schedules and assessment of fees, click ‘COR’ from the navigation menu of the
Student Portal. Set the applicable trimester and school year. Click on the submit button to generate and
view the report.

Balance Inquiry

To know your outstanding balance for tuition and fees and posting of payment transactions,
select ‘Balance Inquiry’ from the navigation menu. Select the latest trimester and school year.
Click on the View Icon to generate the report.

Microsoft Office : Online Versions and Licensed Desktop versions

Licensed Desktop Version


On Windows

1. Go to www.office.com and if you're not already signed in, select Sign in.

2. Sign in with your Office 365 Account and the dashboard will be displayed.

3. On the upper right corner of the screen, click “Install Office” and select “Office 365 apps” to
begin the installation.

4. After clicking the “Office 365 apps” download will automatically start and follow the 3 steps to
complete the installation.

5. Depending on your browser, click Run (if you are using Internet Explorer) or Setup (if you are
using Google Chrome). Then the installation will initiate.

6. When the window below appears, the installation will begin. Wait until the installation has
completed.

7. Once the installation has been done, the image below will be displayed.

8. To activate the MS Office 365 license, just open any app and accept the license agreement. Once
done, the MS Office 365 is already activated and ready to use.

Licensed Desktop Version
On Mac

1. Go to www.office.com and click ‘Sign in’

2. Input your Microsoft Office 365 account credentials and click ‘Sign in’.

3. If you wish to ‘Stay signed in’ click ‘Yes’, otherwise ‘No’.

4. Microsoft Office 365 dashboard will be displayed.

5. On the upper-right part of the screen, click the ‘Install Office’ and choose ‘Office 365 apps’.

6. Installer will start to download.

7. Once the download has completed, open Finder, go to Downloads and double-click the
Microsoft_Office_Installer.pkg. Filename of the installer may vary.

8. On the installation screen, click ‘Continue’ to begin the installation.

9. Review the software license agreement and click ‘Continue’.

10. Click ‘Agree’ to agree to the Terms of the Software License Agreement.

11. Choose how you wish to install the software, then click Continue.

12. Review the disk space requirements or change the installation location if necessary. Then, click
Install.

13. Key in your Mac login password, if prompted and click the Install Software.

14. The installation will start and wait for the installation to finish.

15. Once the installation is done, click Close.

16. Go to Launchpad in the Dock to display all the installed applications and launch the Microsoft
Office Application.

17. Click ‘Next’ on the privacy dialog box.

18. Choose your preferred option in the diagnostic and usage data on MS Office 365, then click
‘Accept’.

19. Click ‘Ok’ on the dialog box for the connection to online services.

20. Use your Microsoft Office application.

Activation

1. Click ‘Word’, and select ‘Activate Office’

2. On the dialog box, click the ‘Sign in’ link and input your Microsoft Office 365 credentials.

3. Once you are done with your credentials, click ‘Sign in’ then it will automatically search for
license and activate your account.

4. You have activated your Microsoft Office 365 subscription.

Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is the school’s official collaborative and communications application for online classes,
meetings and app messaging.

Microsoft One Drive


Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud service that allows you to access all of your files. It allows you to store and
protect your files, share them with others, and access them from any device.

Microsoft Stream is a platform for video storage, sharing, and collaboration.
