Subject: Various Issues on the Dahanu Road-Virar Suburban Section.

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to address various issues faced by passengers on the Virar-Dahanu suburban section. I have been receiving
continuous feedback from citizens regarding numerous problems. I kindly request your attention to these concerns and urge you to
take action to provide relief to the passengers.

The following problems are outlined below:

1. There is a severe lack of EMU connectivity to Dahanu Road, especially during peak hours. While Western Railway has introduced
additional 15-coach EMU services on the Virar-Churchgate route, no such service has been extended to the Virar-Dahanu Road section.
I request the introduction of 15-coach EMUs on the Virar-Dahanu Road route to cater the crowd.

2. There is a one-hour gap between the 12:20 Virar-Dahanu EMU and the 13:20 Virar-Dahanu EMU. I request the introduction of an
additional time-saving EMU around 12:45 from Virar.

3. A significant gap of 1.25 hours exists between the 10:10 Dahanu Road-Virar and 11:35 Dahanu Road-Virar EMUs. I urge the
immediate introduction of an additional Churchgate/ Andheri EMU service to fill this gap.

4. The 93002 Dahanu Road-Churchgate EMU is consistently delayed and often held in loops for express trains to pass. This train is
essential for employees of essential services, and I request that its punctuality be maintained.

5. There is a demand for a new service at 4 a.m from Dahanu to Churchgate to provide early morning connectivity for essential service
employees. I request the earliest introduction of this service.

6. Train number 90615, departing from Churchgate at 15:56 and reaching Virar at 17:18, could be extended to Boisar and return from
Boisar at 18:25 for Virar. Additionally, train number 93026 departing from Dahanu Road could be merged with train number 90734
departing from Virar at 17:27.

7. I propose the introduction of a new EMU to Dahanu Road around the old timetable of 19015 Saurashtra Express, considering the
significant number of teachers, students, government officers, and citizens traveling from Mumbai to Dahanu Road.

8. I would like to also propose, 9.35 & 10.05 Dahanu Virar EMUs should be extended upto Borivali/Andheri to facilitate the passengers.

9. Since Palghar is district HQ, there are large number of District officers , advocates ,students , citizens travels at Palghar from Kalyan ,
Thane , Dombivali, Diva, Bhiwandi and other cities on Central Railway line. It is requested that kindly start new MEMU services from
Kalyan to Palghar in the morning and from Palghar towards Kalyan in the evening.

10. Finally, I request that Dahanu local trains should receive priority and not be kept waiting on loops between Virar and Dahanu Road.
If EMUs are prioritised between Virar and Churchgate, the same should apply to the Virar-Dahanu section.

I kindly ask you to look into these matters and take appropriate action.

With reference to above remarks are as follows:-
There is a severe lack of EMU connectivity to Dahanu Road, especially during peak hours. While
Western Railway has introduced additional 15-coach EMU services on the Virar-Churchgate route, no
such service has been extended to the Virar-Dahanu Road section. I request the introduction of 15-
coach EMUs on the Virar-Dahanu Road route to cater the crowd.
Remarks:- In the current scenario it is not feasible to introduce 15-car services in this section due to inadequate
platform length at VR (Pf no.3A & 4A) SAH, UOI & DRD

2. There is a one-hour gap between the 12:20 Virar-Dahanu EMU and the 13:20 Virar-Dahanu EMU. I
request the introduction of an additional time-saving EMU around 12:45 from Virar.
Remarks:- It is not feasible to introduce anyadditional EMU service between 12:20 to 13:20hrs
as the following Mail express passes Virar during that time.

Road-Virar EMUs. I urge the immediate introduction of an additional Churchgate/ Andheri EMU
service to fill this gap.
Remarks:- Additional EMU between 10:10 & and11:35hrs:
It is not feasible to introduce any additional EMUservice between 10:10 to 11:35hrs as the followingMail express passes DRD
during that time
a. 12489/12990/20483 DRD (P) 10:39
b. 12980- DRD (P) 11:13
c. 12932- DRD (P) 11:17
d. 82902- DRD (P) 11:22
e. 22194-DRD (P) 11:33
4. The 93002 Dahanu Road-Churchgate EMU is consistently delayed and often held in loops for
express trains to pass. This train is essential for employees of essential services, and I request that its
punctuality be maintained.
Remarks:- The Virar- Dahanu Road sector being double line also caters to several Mail express, passenger and freight
trains and some times during late running preference over a stopping EMU service in unavoidable. However instructions have
been issued to further monitor punctuality of this service.

5. There is a demand for a new service at 4 a.m from Dahanu to Churchgate to provide early morning
connectivity for essential service employees. I request the earliest introduction of this service.
Remarks:- .In the present scenario it is not feasible to introduce any additional service ex DRD at 04:00hrs due to
unavailability of path and rake.

6. Train number 90615, departing from Churchgate at 15:56 and reaching Virar at 17:18, could be
extended to Boisar and return from Boisar at 18:25 for Virar. Additionally, train number 93026
departing from Dahanu Road could be merged with train number 90734 departing from Virar at
17:27.
Remarks:- Extending this Virar service upto Boisar will lead to reduction of Virar sector services and will be highly resented.
Besides running EMU services upto BOR is not desirable.

7. I propose the introduction of a new EMU to Dahanu Road around the old timetable of 19015
Saurashtra Express, considering the significant number of teachers, students, government officers,
and citizens traveling from Mumbai to Dahanu Road.
Remarks:- It is not feasible to introduce EMU service on the path of 19015 Dn as this path is presently utilized to run 19567
TEN/OKHA Exp.

8. I would like to also propose, 9.35 & 10.05 Dahanu Virar EMUs should be extended upto
Borivali/Andheri to facilitate the passengers.
Remarks:- it is not feasible to extended 9:35 & 10:05 Dahanu Virar EMU upto Borivali/Andheri due to
unavailability of path. The extension will lead to deceleration of the above Mail/Express trains which
will further affect the running of suburban services

9. Since Palghar is district HQ, there are large number of District officers , advocates ,students,
citizens travels at Palghar from Kalyan , Thane , Dombivali, Diva, Bhiwandi and other cities on
Central Railway line. It is requested that kindly start new MEMU services from Kalyan to Palghar in
the morning and from Palghar towards Kalyan in the evening.
Remarks:- Vasai Road is major interchange point between Western and Central Railway. Memu
services from Vasai Road towards Diva and Panvel are available. Vasai Raod- Diva/Panvel section falls
in the jurisdiction of Central Railway, which is primarily used for freight and long distance mail
express services and controlled by Central Railway (CR). Line capacity for Dahanu Road-Virar section
is 138.5%. Hence, it is operationally difficult to introduce memu service from Palghar. However any
proposal received from Central Railway will be examined.

10. Finally, I request that Dahanu local trains should receive priority and not be kept waiting on loops
between Virar and Dahanu Road. If EMUs are prioritised between Virar and Churchgate, the same
should apply to the Virar-Dahanu section.

Remarks:- As far as feasible it is being ensured that all suburban trains are being run as per schedule and preference
to Mail express is given as per schedule.

Subject: Request to Introduce Vande Bharat Trains from Dahanu Road


Dear Sir,

I recently received a response from your office explaining the challenges related to track capacity, which hinders the introduction or
extension of new EMU or MEMU services for Dahanu Road, Palghar, or Boisar. I appreciate your efforts to address this matter.

However, I would like to bring to your attention the observation that new Vande Bharat and holiday special trains are introduced with
minimal disruptions, and there seems to be no issue of path constraint for them. Given this, I kindly request you to consider initiating
Vande Bharat trains connecting Dahanu Road to Kalyan, Panvel, and Mumbai Central.

Introducing such services would not only enhance connectivity for the residents of Dahanu Vaitarana region but also contribute to the
overall transportation network. I understand the complexities involved in managing railway operations, and I appreciate your attention
to this matter.

Thank you for spending your valuable time in considering the options to enhance connectivity for Dahanu - Vaitarana Region.
