Term 3 Newsletter 2023

Dear Parents and Guardians

Warm greetings to you all.

Welcome to the end of third term which was a fully packed term with all activities ranging from
academics to sport. It was also characterised with the syllabus race at each grade level in-order to
open up for the next grade level syllabus. As we end the year 2023 I would like to remind all
stakeholders that we are a community especially the families who have their learners at C.L.C. It
means the collaboration that existed throughout the year has brought us thus far. Together we have
achieved more than if we tried to operate alone.

Examination Session

Examination sessions ran con-currently both Junior and High School Cambridge exams. We are
happy that examinations went on very well.

End of term arrangements.

 School was closed on the Monday 27 November. Consultation day was successfully held on
Tuesday 28 November. I would like to thank all the parents and guardians who came
through for consultation. School will reopen on Tuesday 9 January 2024.

Prize Giving Events

 ECD B graduation and Infants Prize Giving was held on 16 November. We witnessed a
fantastic occasion filled with joy. The learners had some outstanding activities including the
graduates and other learners who received different awards for academic and sporting
disciplines.
 Junior School Prize Giving was held on the evening of Friday 17 November. It was again an
evening filled with happiness as parents came to celebrate the achievements of their
children in 2023. Thank you for all the support.

School Fees

As we embark on yet another new year with the first term starting on 9 January 2024, parents and
guardians are reminded to ensure fees are paid on time. As we embark on the journey of moulding
our learners to be the leaders of tomorrow, this can be done by you paying fees which will make
sure that all educational provisions are at the disposal of our teachers. Together we will mould a
child that you dream of. May I thank all the parents and guardians who have honoured their
payment plans for 2023. Payment plan agreements will also be done in 2024 as per agreement with
the payment dates adhered to as per stated dates.

Uniforms

Learner care strictly believes that a well-cared for child is easily noticed from the way he/she
dresses. We are urging you parents to buy the required uniforms for your children and label them
clearly for easy identification when lost. Make sure the children wear required uniforms for that day.
Hair styles should be neat and up to the standard required for the Junior School learners. Girls can
tie a pony tail at the back and can have free hand plaited hair. You are being discouraged from
stylish hair styles. Boys should have neat hair-cuts.

PE and Sports Department

This year has been amazing sports wise as we saw our school participating in different sporting
disciplines. This term we had swimming in which all the grades participated including ECD A and ECD
B. Approximately 95% of the learners in the school can swim. In 2024 our learners will be
participating in swimming Galas with other schools.

Fixtures

The department managed to fulfil its fixtures lined up for the whole year, they also managed to field
players in all age groups for athletics, soccer, table tennis, cross country, volleyball, hockey, chess
and cricket. They also managed to come up tops in some events with table tennis being the most
outstanding.

In conclusion may I thank you all Parents and Guardians for supporting the learners through-out the
year. We are looking forward to your usual co-operation and support for the benefit of our children.
We wish you a restful festive season. Let the learners rest and charge the minds.

Wish you all a merry Christmas and a prosperous 2024.

Thank you

Mrs Dzvairo.
