Required passwords are not included in this document. You will find them in the CS Knowl-
edge Base on the intranet or you can obtain them from the relevant USC or RSC.
NOTE Before the system is handed over to the customer, the sys-
tem must be shut down via the menu bar <Options>-<End
Software Session>-<Shut Down>.
Switching the system off via hibernation (on/off button on the
monitor trolley) is not sufficient.
Safety information 0
When performing the work steps and checks, the general safety information for medical
products must be observed.
System condition 0
• Image System Clone Software VC10A DVD must be ordered as a spare part.
¹ Do not leave the clone software DVD at the customer site.
• The backup/restore CD of the system. See system binder.
¹ If the backup/restore CD of the system is also defective or lost, then the imaging
PC must be configured manually.

• 2 blank DVD-R media to create a new recovery DVD after the complete software instal-
lation.

Installation time 0
• The complete software installation procedure takes about 2 hours. The time needed to
save patient images is not included in the calculation.
Software Version 0
• The system must already be at software level VC10A or, if the PC is defective, an
up-to-date backup of the VC10A settings must be available.
¹ If the backup/restore CD of the system is also defective or lost, then the imaging
PC must be configured manually.

Software Updates 0
• After the VC10A image system clone software has been installed, check whether addi-
tional software updates were released in the meantime and need to be reinstalled.
• Use the update instructions included with the updates to install the software updates.
Monitors 0
• Make sure that both monitors are connected and switched on.
• USB Printer (Sony): Make sure that the local printer is switched off and the USB con-
nection is not connected to the imaging system PC.
USB 0
• Make sure that no USB memory stick or USB hard drive is connected to the imaging
system PC.
Network 0
• The system must be physically disconnected from the network during software installa-
tion.
WLAN option 0
• If the WLAN option is installed on the system, ensure that the WLAN client is also dis-
connected from the imaging PC.
• Open the rear cover of the monitor trolley.
• Disconnect the RJ45 network cable (coming from the network switch, or hub) from the
RJ45 network plug of the imaging PC network adapter.
¹ No network cable is connected to the imaging PC any more.

Patient Images 0
Patient images that are not saved will be lost during a software installation.
• If required, save the patient images.
- Send the patient images to the archive
- or burn them to CD/DVD
- or save them to USB hard drive

1. If you are uncertain of the administrator password, switch the system on and login into
the service application.
2. Click <Configuration>-<Next>-<Users>.
3. Enter the password (e. g. default password, see SP password list) in the “Password”
and “Confirm” fields below “Account for Administrator”
¹ With HIPPA configured, the administrator password is necessary for the first
HIPAA login after restoring “SW_Settings 02”.

NOTE Main system backup for systems with SW version VC10A and
SP1 service package installed:
The programming of the country-specific configuration for
Australia and Switzerland is not stored with the backup of the
main system settings and cannot be restored by restoring
the main system settings.
If necessary, program and check the country-specific config-
uration for Australia or Switzerland as described in the Con-
figuration Instructions SP00-000.843.30...
Prerequisites 0
1. Open the DVD drive tray and insert a blank CD-R into the DVD drive.
2. Close the DVD drive tray.
3. Open the local service.
4. Click <Backup & Restore>
5. Select “Command” and “Backup”.
6. Select “(R) CD-R” in the “Drives” list field as the backup drive.
7. Perform a backup of the following packages:
¹ SW-Settings02
¹ ASPIASettings
¹ ExamSet
¹ Security-Settings (Option HIPAA)
¹ MainSystem
¹ 3D-Settings (Option Orbic 3D)
8. Remove the backup CD-R from the DVD drive tray.
1. Open the DVD drive tray and insert a blank CD-R into the DVD drive.
2. Close the DVD drive tray.
3. Open the local service.
4. Click <Backup & Restore>
5. Select “Command” and “Backup”.
6. Select “(R) CD-R” in the “Drives” list field as the backup drive.
¹ After a few seconds, a message “Please insert Media in Drive R:\ and press ’OK’
to proceed the Backup & Restore” is displayed.
Installation prerequisites 0
• Ensure that the USB local printer (SONY) is disconnected from the imaging system PC.
• Ensure that the any network connection is disconnected from the monitor trolley.
• WLAN option: Ensure that the WLAN client is disconnected from the imaging PC net-
work adapter. If the WLAN option is installed, open the rear cover of the monitor trolley
and disconnect the RJ45 cable connector from the imaging PC network adapter (net-
work cable between imaging PC network adapter and internally installed network
switch (hub).
• Make sure that no USB memory stick or USB hard drive is connected to the imaging
system PC.
• Ensure that both monitors are connected and switched on.
• Ensure that a backup of the current system configuration is on hand.
• Ensure that all patients are archived.

PC type M450: changing the boot sequence and USB BIOS settings of the BIOS
NOTE To enable bootup from the image system DVD, some BIOS
settings have to be changed.

3. Enter the BIOS password and confirm it by pressing the “Enter” key.
4. ARCADIS Varic or ARCADIS Orbic: Insert the “C06/C07 Image system VC10A” soft-
ware DVD into the DVD drive.
5. ARCADIS Avantic: Insert the “C08 Image system VC10A” software DVD into the DVD
drive.
6. Press the “F9” key on the keyboard.
¹ “Load default configuration now?” is displayed.
7. Confirm the “Yes” button by pressing the “Enter” key .
8. Select <Advanced> with the cursor keys and press the “Enter” key.
9. Select <USB BIOS Supported Devices> with the cursor keys and press the “Enter” key.
10. Using the cursor keys, change the setting from “Auto” to “Keyboard/Mouse” and press
the “Enter” key.
¹ “Keyboard/Mouse” is displayed on the screen.
11. Press the “ESC” key to leave the menu.
12. Press the “ESC” key to select “Exit”.
13. Confirm the question “Save Changes & Exit” by pressing the “Enter” key.
¹ The message appears: “Save configuration changes and exit now?”
1. The system boots from the previously inserted “Image System” DVD.
¹ The system installs the BIOS settings. This takes approx. 5 to 10 minutes.
¹ Some scripts are executed.
¹ During the BIOS installation, the system reboots again.
2. Wait until the message “Varic, Orbic, Avantic (V, O, A)” is displayed.
¹ The BIOS installation is finished.
¹ The “Image System VC10A” DVD remains in the DVD drive.
3. Continue with section <PC type M450: image system installation>.
NOTE The Ghost progress bar and time indication are incorrect.
After a progress bar display of about 40% the installation is
completed.

4. After successful installation of the image files, the system reboots automatically.
¹ After the reboot, the Windows XP Setup window is displayed on the left-hand
monitor.
5. Skip the next sections under <PC type M460: image system installation> and continue
with the section <Installation of Windows XP and syngo application>.
PC type M460: Changing the RAID settings for the BIOS installation
NOTE To enable bootup from the image system DVD, some BIOS
settings have to be changed.

3. Enter the BIOS password and confirm it by pressing the “Enter” key.
4. Select the menu <Advanced>.
5. Select the menu line <Advanced System Configuration> and press the “Enter” key.
6. Select the line <SATA RAID Enabled> and press the “Enter” key.
7. Select <Disabled> and press the “Enter” key.
¹ <SATA RAID Enabled> is now disabled.
8. Select the line <SATA AHCI Enabled> and press the “Enter” key.
9. Select <Disabled> and press the “Enter” key.
¹ <SATA AHCI Enabled> is now disabled.
10. Press the “ESC” key till the BIOS main menu is displayed.
11. To store the BIOS settings, press the “F10” key.
¹ The message window <Setup configuration> is displayed.

PC type M460: Changing the boot sequence for the image system installation
NOTE The work steps described in section “PC type M460: chang-
ing the RAID settings for the BIOS installation” must be per-
formed prior to the work steps described in this section.
1. ARCADIS Varic or ARCADIS Orbic: Open the DVD drive tray and insert the “Image
System Clone Install M460 C06/C07” CD into the DVD drive and close the drive tray.
2. ARCADIS Avantic: Open the DVD drive tray and insert the “Image System Clone Install
M460 C08” DVD into the DVD drive and close the drive tray.
3. Enter the BIOS password and confirm it by pressing the “Enter” key.
4. In the upper menu line, select <Boot>, using the cursor keys, and press the “Enter” key.
5. Using the up and down cursor keys, select the line <SATA CD: Optiarc DVD-RW-(S3)>.
¹ The characters in the line <SATA CD: Optiarc DVD-RW-(S3)> are highlighted.
7. Move the line <SATA CD: Optiarc DVD-RW-(S3)> to the top position by entering the “+”
sign (highlighted line moves upward) or “-” sign (highlighted line moves downward).
¹ The <SATA CD: Optiarc DVD-RW-(S3)> is now in the top position under <Boot
Sequence>.
Selecting the “+” sign at the ARCADIS keyboard:
-> Press the “shift” key (2/Fig. 9 / p. 22) and the “=” key(1/Fig. 9 / p. 22) simultaneously.
Selecting the “-” sign at the ARCADIS keyboard:
- Press the “-” key (first key left of the “=” key (1/Fig. 9 / p. 22)).
¹ The line <SATA CD: Optiarc DVD-RW-(S3)> is now in the top position.
NOTE Do not change the boot sequence of the other displayed hard
disk drives!
1. After the system restart, the system boots from the inserted “Image System Clone
Install M460 ...” DVD.
¹ The system installs the first part of the BIOS settings. This takes approximately 3
minutes.
¹ Some scripts are executed.
¹ During the BIOS installation, the system reboots several times.
2. Wait until the message “Varic, Orbic, Avantic (V, O, A)” or “Varic, Orbic (V, O)” is dis-
played.
¹ The BIOS installation is finished.
3. Continue with the next section <PC type M460: image system installation>.
1. The message “Varic, Orbic, Avantic (V, O, A)” or “Varic, Orbic (V, O)” is still displayed.
2. Select the system by pressing the correct letter on the keyboard:
“V” for ARCADIS Varic software installation,
“O” for ARCADIS Orbic software installation,
“A” for ARCADIS Avantic software installation,
¹ As soon as the letter key on the keyboard is pressed, the image installation starts.
¹ After a few seconds, a license agreement window is displayed.
NOTE The Ghost progress bar and time indication are incorrect.
After a progress bar display of about 40% the installation is
completed.
5. After successful installation of the image files, the system reboots automatically.
¹ After the reboot, the Windows XP Setup window is displayed on the left-hand
monitor.
6. Continue with the next section <Installation of Windows XP and syngo application>.
The system was restarted manually. The WINDOWS XP and syngo installation starts auto-
matically. The installation takes several minutes.
1. Wait until the window “Computer Name and Administrator Password” is displayed.
2. When a window appears with “Computer name” and “Administrator” enter the previ-
ously noted computer name in the “Computer name” field.
4. In the login dialog, change the “User name” to “meduser” and enter the “Password”
¹ User name: meduser
¹ Password: @med@User... (“...” = the last 3 digits of the previously noted com-
puter name)
5. Click <OK>.
¹ Autoconfiguration starts.
¹ Wait for the Explorer window “Please enter license” (see next section).
3. Enter the service key in the service window that appears (under password).
4. Select <Set as default>.
5. Confirm by clicking <OK>.
¹ The <Home> menu window of the local service is displayed.
Restore 0
1. Open the DVD drive tray and insert the backup CD into the DVD drive.
2. In the Service menu, click <Backup & Restore>.
3. Under “Command” select “Restore” and select “(-R-) CD-R” under “Drives”.
SW-Settings 02
1. Under “Archive”, select the correct (newest) backup file of “SW-Settings 02”
2. Highlight all the files in “Groups” (press the “Shift” key and select the first and last entry
of groups).
3. Click <Go>.
4. Wait until “======= End Restore: Day...., Date....., Time...., Duration....” is displayed in
the status window. The next settings group can be selected.
5. Do not restart the ASPIA PC. First restore the following settings.
ASPIA Settings
1. Under “Archive”, select the correct backup file of the “ASPIA Settings”
2. Highlight all the files in "Groups”.
3. Click <Go>.
4. Wait until “======= End Restore: Day...., Date....., Time...., Duration....” is displayed in
the status window. The next settings group can be selected.
5. Do not restart the ASPIA PC. First restore the following settings.
1. Option for Orbic: Under “Archive” select the correct backup file of 3D Reconstruction
settings.
2. Highlight all the files in "Groups”.
3. Click <Go>.
4. Wait until “======= End Restore: Day...., Date....., Time...., Duration....” is displayed in
the status window. The next settings group can be selected.
5. Do not restart the ASPIA PC. First restore the following settings.
Exam Set
3. Wait until “======= End Restore: Day...., Date....., Time...., Duration....” is displayed in
the status window.
NOTE The main system is still not connected to the monitor trolley.
At this time, the restore of the main system parameters is not
possible.
The main system parameters are stored on the main system
D1 board. A restore is necessary only if D1 is defective and
was replaced.
1. After the restart of the system, the patient database creation starts and takes about 15
minutes.
¹ The syngo counter screen appears.
¹ When this is completed, a window appears with the following text:
"Warning: database creation in progress, this will last a long time. Wait until
the patient registration dialog is open! Close the window then! Press any
key to continue...”
¹ Wait until the patient registration dialog or the patient browser is displayed.
2. Close the patient registration dialog or the patient browser.
3. Click the window “Warning: Database...” and press the “Enter” key.
¹ The window “Warning: Database...” disappears.
1. Open the DVD drive tray and insert the backup CD into the DVD drive again.
2. Open the local service again.
3. In the Service menu, click <Backup & Restore>.
4. Under “Command” select “Restore” and select “(-R-) CD-R” under “Drives”.
12. Click <Apply> and <OK> to close the window “Regional and Language Options”.
¹ If the language have been changed, the following message appears:
The following is displayed in the case that values have been changed:
“The regional settings have been changed.
Therefore a restart of the application is necessary.
Do you want to restart the application now?”
¹ In case of language change click on <OK>. This will apply the settings and the
system restarts.
¹ Otherwise shut down the system via <Options>-<End Software Session>-<Shut-
down>.
• The image system Clone CD software package does not include any software update
released later for this system.
• Check the system binder for previously installed software updates for this system.
• Check the Healthcare Customer Service Home page for further released software
updates that apply to your system.
• If needed and before creating a new recovery DVD, install the corresponding software
updates, using the documentation delivered with the software updates.
1. If covers were removed, reconnect all disconnected protective conductor wires and
reinstall the covers.
2. If covers were removed, perform a protective conductor resistance test.
¹ The protective conductor resistance must not exceed 0.2 ohms.
Sony UPD 970 and UPD 990 local printer installation 3.1
Prerequisites 0
NOTE Do not connect the USB printer until you are instructed to in
the course of the software installation process.
1. For the necessary test exposures, make sure the printer has paper or film.
2. Unplug the printer's USB connection to the PC.
3. Switch on the system and wait until it has booted.
Paper printer
1. Under the “External devices” menu, click (or <Next> to go to) “Paper Printer”.
2. In “Available paper printer media formats”, mark “A4” and “8x10”. All other formats must
be deselected.
3. Click <Save>.
Printer settings
1. Under the “External Devices” menu, click (or <Next> to go to ) “Printer settings”.
¹ Make sure that the default value “black” is selected and click <Finish>.
PS LUT files
1. Under the “External devices”, menu click (or <Next> to go to) “PS LUT files”.
2. Ensure that the “Use LUT for Postscript Printers” check box is unchecked.
