BACKGROUND /RATIONALE

One of the basic goals of the Department of Education is to improve quality education by
enhancing teaching and learning processes especially this pandemic time. Teachers use
strategies/approaches to make learning more comprehensive. To be able to attain this goal, teachers must
simplify the strategies/ approaches that cater to all types of learners.
It is a task to train teachers on how to simplify the strategies/approaches as instructional
support to upgrade their performance level and at the same time improve the proficiency level of their
learners.

The SLAC ON SIMPLIFIED PROBLEM-SOLVING STRATEGIES IN MATH was

conceptualized to help both teachers and learners to achieve high performance level.

OBJECTIVES:

 Equip teachers with knowledge and skills in simplifying the problem-solving strategies in teaching
and learning in Math
 Bridge the gap of learners at risk in learning problem solving skills.
 Improve teachers ‘and learners’ performance level.
