Tutorial Logistic Regression

This study analyzed data from 5,209 participants to determine risk factors for coronary heart disease (CHD) using logistic regression. The regression found that being male, older age, higher systolic blood pressure, higher diastolic blood pressure, higher cholesterol, abnormal ECG, and higher relative weight were associated with higher odds of CHD, while height, alcohol consumption, and were not significant predictors. The regression equation derived from the analysis can be used to predict the probability of CHD based on the measured risk factors.

MAP 716-Tutorial- logistic regression

The following table shows the result of a multivariable logistic regression analysis on data from a
study in which there were 5209 participants on whom 9 covariates were measured at baseline. The
dependent variable was whether coronary heart disease (CHD) was present (coded as 'one') or
absent (coded as 'zero') after 10 years.
