Cheat Sheet Shadowrun

Edge 5th Edition


What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes • Push the Limit: Add your Edge rating to your test,
Edge either before or after the roll and ignore limits.
Options Rule of Six come into play: for every 6 you roll, count
(CBR p. 56) it as a hit and then re-roll that die, adding any
Push the Limit additional hits from the re-roll to your total. If you
Second Chance decide to use this function after your initial roll, only
Seize the Initiative your Edge dice use the Rule of Six.
Blitz • Second Chance: Re-roll all dice that did not score a
Close Call hit on a test roll. Second Chance cannot be used to
Dead Man’s trigger negate a glitch or critical glitch, it does not use the
Smackdown (Burns Edge) Rule of Six, and it has no effect on limits.
Not Dead Yet (Burns Edge) • Seize the Initiative: Act first throughout an entire
(RG p. 126) Combat Turn.
Lucky Move • Blitz: Initiative becomes +5d6.
Miracle Shot • Close Call: Either negate the effects of one glitch or
Lucky Duck (Costs 2 Edge) turn a critical glitch into a glitch.
Sixth Sense • Dead Man’s Trigger: Pass a Body + Willpower (3)
Lucky Cover test to spend any remaining actions you have on a
single action before your character blacks out.
• Smackdown: Automatically succeed in an action
with four net hits, no matter Dice Pool or Limit. Only
usable if character has relevant skill.
• Not Dead Yet: Keeps character alive against all odds.
Character is left breathing but incapacitated. Quick
healing and stabilization can still save the character’s
life.
• Lucky Move: Allows character to use a single
untrained Martial Arts maneuver.
• Miracle Shot: Removes up to 4 points of penalties
on Called Shots.
• Lucky Duck: Warns ally of incoming attack, making it
miss automatically. Use before attack roll is made.
• Sixth Sense: Allows Defense tests again attacks they
are unaware of.
• Lucky Cover: Provides cover against all AOE attacks
and all forms of Suppresion

Ranged Combat 5th Edition
What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes 1. Choose the weapon and ammo you want to use,
Agility and note their DV and AP.
Skills 2. Choose a fire mode that you want to use.
(Weapon Skill) 3. Add your Agility Attribute to your pool.
Options 4. Add the correct weapon skill to your pool.
Weapon Used 5. Add the bonus for laser sight or smartlink to your
Ammo Used pool.
Weapon + Ammo DV 6. Subtract any Wound, Environmental and Situational
Weapon + Ammo AP Modifiers from your pool.
Weapon Fire Mode 7. Subtract the number of rounds fired this Phase
Recoil Compensation from the Progressive Recoil Compensation total.
Laser Sight/Smartlink Bonus If this number is below zero, that’s your recoil

Environmental Visibility Modifiers 8. If the recoil modifier is less than zero, subtract it
Situational Modifiers from your pool.
Variables 9. Roll your pool dice, note your hits.
Number of rounds fired this Action Phase 10. If your attack is from a shot gun, tell the

Recoil Modifier 11. The defender rolls defense pool and subtracts

Melee Combat 5th Edition
What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes 1. Choose the weapon you want to use, and note its
Agility DV and AP.
Strength 2. Add your Agility Attribute to your pool.
Skills 3. Add the correct weapon skill to your pool.
(Weapon Skill) 4. Add your reach and your weapon’s reach together,
Options and compare them to the defender’s total reach.
Weapon Used The higher reach subtracts this number from their
Weapon DV opponent’s pool.
Weapon AP 5. Subtract any Wound and Environmental Modifiers
Your Reach from your pool.
Weapon Reach 6. Add or subtract any Melee Modifiers from your
Weapon Modifier pool.
Wound Modifiers 6. Roll your pool dice, note your hits.
Environmental Visibility Modifiers 7. The defender rolls defense pool and subtracts their

Attributes 1. For Ranged Defense, Choose whether to use the
Reaction Full Defense (decreasing Initiative score by 10 and add

Qualities your pool.
Variables 5. Roll your pool dice, note your hits.
Attacker’s Weapon DV 6. Subtract your hits from the attacker’s hits. If the net
Attacker’s Weapon AP hits are zero or less, you avoided the attack; stop now.
Attacker’s Hits 7. Add the attacker’s net hits to the attacker’s weapon
Your Hits DV; this is the modified DV.
Attacker’s Net Hits If this number is greater than your armor rating
Modified DV (modified by the weapon AP), it causes Physical
damage, otherwise it causes Stun damage.
8. Start a new pool, add your Body Attribute to it.
9. Add your Armor Rating, modified by the weapon AP
to your pool.
11. Add any modifiers from implants, spells and
qualities.
10. Roll your pool dice, and subtract the hits from the
modified DV. If the difference is greater than zero,
apply that number of boxes to the appropriate
damage track, Physical or Stun.

Spellcasting 5th Edition
What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes 1. Choose the spell you wish to cast.
Magic 2. Choose a force for the spell, up to twice your Magic.
Willpower 3. Add your Magic Attribute to your pool.
(Drain Resistance Attribute) 4. Add your Spellcasting Skill to your pool.
Skills 5. Add the bonus for your Mentor Spirit to your pool,
Spellcasting if applicable.
Options 6. Add the bonus for a Spellcasting Focus to your pool,
Spell Cast if it is of the correct type.
Force 7. Subtract any Wound and Environmental modifiers
Drain DV from your pool.
Mentor Spirit Bonus 8. Roll your pool dice, add up your hits.
Spellcasting Focus If you glitch, tell the gamemaster.
Wound Modifier 9. Take the lesser of your hits, the spell’s force and
Environmental Visibility Modifiers your mental limit; this is your actual hits total.
Variables 10. If the spell is resisted and your target is living, the

Defender’s Hits If your target is non‐living, the gamemaster will

Modified DV If your actual hits is reduced to zero or less (in the
former case), or if your actual hits falls short of the
threshold (in the latter case), skip to step 12.
11. Tell the gamemaster your actual hits and the force
of the spell. Your gamemaster will determine the
effect of the spell.
12. Start a new pool, add your Willpower to it.
13. Add the Attribute that you use to resist Drain,
according to your tradition.
14. Roll your pool dice. Subtract one from the Drain
Damage Value for each hit.
15. If you did not reduce the Drain Damage Value to
zero, apply the damage to your Condition Monitor:
Physical if the Force was greater than your Magic,
Stun otherwise.

Spell What you Need to Do
1. Choose the spell you wish to cast.

Spellcasting Focus 10. The defender rolls defense pool and subtracts
Wound Modifier their hits from your actual hits.
Environmental Visibility Modifiers If your net hits are zero or less, skip to step 13.
Variables 11. Add your net hits to the force; this is your
Your Hits modified DV. If this number is greater than half of the
Actual Hits defender’s armor, the spell causes Physical damage,
Defender’s Hits otherwise it is Stun damage.
Your Net Hits 12. Tell the gamemaster your final modified DV, along

13. Start a new pool, add your Willpower to it.
14. Add the Attribute that you use to resist Drain,
according to your tradition.
15. Roll your pool dice. Subtract one from the Drain
Damage Value for each hit.
16. If you did not reduce the Drain Damage Value to
zero, apply the damage to your Condition Monitor:
Physical if the Force was greater than your Magic,
Stun otherwise.

Summoning 5th Edition
What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes 1. Choose a type of spirit to summon and the Force
Magic you want it to have.
Willpower 2. Add your Magic Attribute to your pool.
(Drain Resistance Attribute) 3. Add your Summoning Skill to your pool.
Skills 4. Add your Mentor Spirit modifier to your pool, if
Summoning applicable.
Options 5. Add the Rating of a Summoning Focus to your pool,
Spirit Type if it is of the right type.
Desired Force 6. Subtract any Wound Modifier from your pool.
Mentor Spirit Bonus 7. Roll your pool dice, add up the hits.
Summoning Focus If you glitch, tell the gamemaster.
Wound Modifier 8. The gamemaster rolls the spirit’s Force and adds up
Variables the hits.
Your Hits 9. Subtract the spirit’s hits from your hits.
Spirit’s Hits If you have zero or fewer hits, no spirit appears. If you
Drain Damage Value have hits left over, each hit counts as a service the
spirit owes you.
10. Multiply the spirit’s hit by two.
This is the Damage Value of the Drain, minimum 2.
11. Start a new pool, add your Willpower Attribute to
it.
12. Add the Attribute that you use to resist Drain,
according to your tradition.
13. Roll your pool dice. Subtract one from the Drain
Damage Value for each hit.
14. If you did not reduce the Drain Damage Value to
zero, apply the damage to your Condition Monitor:
Physical if the Force was greater than your Magic
Attribute, Stun otherwise.

Banishing 5th Edition
What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes 1. Choose a target spirit and find its force, along with
Magic its type, and whether it has been bound.
Willpower 2. Add your Magic Attribute to your pool.
(Drain Resistance Attribute) 3. Add your Banishing Skill to your pool.
Skills 4. Add your Mentor Spirit modifier to your pool, if
Banishing applicable.
Options 5. Add the Rating of a Banishing Focus to your pool, if
Target Spirit’s Force it is of the right type.
Target Spirit’s Summoner’s Magic 6. Subtract any Wound Modifiers from your pool.
Mentor Spirit Bonus 7. Roll your pool dice, add up the hits.
Banishing Focus If you glitch, tell the gamemaster.
Wound Modifier 8. The gamemaster rolls the target spirit’s Force and
Variables adds up the hits. If the target is a bound spirit, the
Your Hits gamemaster also rolls its summoner’s Magic Attribute
Spirit’s Hits and adds those hits.
Drain Damage Value 9. Subtract the spirit’s hits from your hits. If you have
zero or fewer hits, nothing happens. If you have hits
left over, each hit reduces the target spirit’s owed
services. If the owed services are reduced to zero, it
will leave on its next action, but any magician may
attempt to summon it before it leaves.
10. Multiply the spirit’s hits by two.
This is the Damage Value of the Drain, minimum 2.
11. Start a new pool, add your Willpower Attribute to
it.
12. Add the Attribute that you use to resist Drain,
according to your tradition.
13. Roll your pool dice. Subtract one from the Drain
Damage Value for each hit.
14. If you did not reduce the Drain Damage Value to

Astral Combat 5th Edition
What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes 1. Choose the weapon focus you want to use, and
Logic note its DV (use Charisma instead of Strength).
Willpower If unarmed, the DV is equal to your Charisma
Charisma Attribute.
Skills 2. If you are astrally perceiving (or dual‐natured), add
Astral Combat your Willpower Attribute to your pool. If you are
Options astrally projecting, add your Logic to your pool.
Weapon Focus Used (if any) 3. Add your Astral Combat Skill to your pool.
Weapon Focus DV 4. Add your reach and your weapon’ reach together,
Weapon Rating and compare them to the defender’s total reach. The
Your Reach higher reach subtracts the difference from their
Weapon Reach opponent’s pool.
Wound Modifier 5. Add the Weapon Focus Rating if you are using one.
Variables 6. Subtract any Wound Modifiers from your pool.
Defender’s Reach 7. Roll your pool dice, note your hits.
Your Hits 8. The defender rolls defense pool and subtracts their
Defender’s Hits hits from your hits.
Your Net Hits If your net hits are zero or less, stop now.
Modified DV 9. Add your net hits to your weapon DV; this is your
modified DV.
10. Decide whether your attack will cause Stun
damage or Physical damage, and tell the gamemaster.
11. Tell the gamemaster your final modified DV. The
defender will attempt to resist the horrible damage
you have just caused.

8. Add any relevant programs to your dice pool to
resist Matrix damage (Armor, Shell, or Guard).
9. Roll your dice, and subtract the hits from the
modified DV. If the difference is greater than zero,
apply that number of boxes to the Matrix damage
track of your device.
10. If the attack was laced with Biofeedback damage
that your device was not able to block, start a new
pool. Add your Willpower and Firewall to the pool.
11. Add any program’s bonuses that help resist
Biofeedback damage to the pool.
12. Roll your dice, note your hits. Reduce the
remaining damage by your hits.
13. Apply the remaining damage to the appropriate
damage track. Stun track if you are running cold‐sim,
Physical track if you are running hot‐sim.

What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes 1. Choose a type of sprite to compile and the Rating
Resonance you want it to have.
Willpower 2. Add your Resonance Attribute to your pool.
Autosoft 3. Add your Compiling Skill to your pool.
Compiling 4. Subtract any Wound Modifiers from your pool.
Options 5. Roll your pool dice, add up the hits. If you glitch, tell
Sprite Type the gamemaster.
Desired Rating 6. The gamemaster rolls the sprite’s Rating and adds
Wound Modifier up the hits.
Variables 7. Subtract the sprite’s hits from your hits. If you have
Your Hits zero or fewer hits, no sprite appears. If you have hits
Sprite’s Hits left over, each hit counts as a task the sprite owes
Fading Damage Value you.
8. Multiply the sprite’s hits by two. This is the Fading
Damage Value, minimum 2.
9. Start a new pool, add your Willpower to it.
10. Add your Resonance to the new pool.
11. Roll your pool dice. Subtract one from the Fading
Damage Value for each hit.
12. If you did not reduce the Fading Damage Value to
zero, apply the damage to your Condition Monitor:

What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes 1. Choose the weapon and ammo you want to use,
Drone’s Pilot and note their DV and AP.
Autosoft 2. Choose a fire mode that you want to use.
Targeting 3. Add your Drone’s Pilot rating to your pool.
Options 4. Add the Targeting Autosoft rating to your pool.
Weapon Used 5. Subtract any Damage Modifiers from your pool.
Ammo Used 6. Subtract the number of rounds fired this Phase
Weapon + Ammo DV from the Progressive Recoil Compensation total. If
Weapon + Ammo AP this number is below zero, that’s your recoil modifier.
Weapon Fire Mode 7. If the recoil modifier is less than zero, subtract it
Recoil Compensation from your pool.
Damage Modifier 8. Roll your pool dice, note your hits.

What You Need to Know What you Need to Do
Attributes 1. Choose the preparation you wish to cast.
Magic 2. Choose a force for the preparation, up to twice your
Willpower Magic.
(Drain Resistance Attribute) 3. Choose the Lynchpin for the preparation.
Skills 4. Choose the trigger for your preparation.
Alchemy 5. Add your Magic Attribute to your pool.
Options 6. Add your Alchemy Skill to your pool.
Preparation Cast 7. Add the bonus for your Mentor Spirit to your pool,
Force if applicable.
Drain DV 8. Add the bonus for an Alchemy Focus to your pool,
Mentor Spirit Bonus if it is of the correct type and you do not wish to save
Alchemy Focus it to help resist drain later.
Wound Modifier 9. Subtract any Wound Modifier from your pool.
Preparation Trigger 10. Roll your pool dice, add up your hits. If you glitch,
Preparation Lynchpin tell the gamemaster.
Variables 11. Roll dice equal to the preparation’s force.
Your Hits 12. Subtract the preparation’s hits from your hits. The
Actual Hits result is the potency of the preparation.
Force Hits 13. Start a new pool, add your Willpower to it.
Your Net Hits 14. Add the Attribute that you use to resist Drain,
according to your tradition.
15. If you did not add your Alchemy Focus Rating to
your alchemy pool, add it now.
14. Add in the trigger type’s Drain Damage Value.
