II. Overview

Anybody needs help to be able to manage well his life affected by the changing
situations or personal problem or crisis. He would need the support of others and may
find relief through counseling. This is a common type of counseling - the individualized
type or the individual counselling, which is a personal, one-to-one counselling space
for a person to interact with the counsellor to explore and address personal
concerns. It is a partnership where the counsellor works with the client to help the
client in their journey to understand themselves better and cope with whatever
challenges they are going through.
Group exists in communities, organization, students in schools, teachers, in
school, and departments in workplaces, and such an entity can undergo group
counseling. The needs can range from desire to reduce conflict or manage it, become
more productive as a team, or work better together.
In group counseling, a small group of people meet regularly to discuss, interact,
and explore problems with each other and the group leader. This helps individuals
develop communication skills and socialization skills and allows clients to learn how
to express their issues and accept criticism from others. It also allows individuals to
develop self-awareness by listening to others with similar issues.
When people experience something collectively, which can be socially troubling
and constitute the danger of blocking their collective capacity to move on, counseling
is necessary to be undertaken on a community level. This is referred to as ccommunity
counseling which is a type of counseling that is used to help communities that are
suffering from psychological or social discord, for one reason or another. Professionals
in this field will often try to treat individuals in the community for whatever psychological
problem that ails them.
