Meaning:

A Basis of Assessment: Provides the competences/skills/abilities/output the learner is expected to exhibit in


responding to a task which is provided by item developer in the stimulus material corresponding to a given
element of construct.
Purpose:
Guides a test taker/item developer on maximum number of responses expected to obtain the highest level of
achievement/scores.
