Acoustic Target
The Supersonic Acoustic Target is a high performance target that
is suitable for proof and experimental applications as well as
training and competition. The system operates by detecting the
shock wave generated by supersonic projectiles.

This target is an "open" system where nothing is present in the

target area. An array of sensors on a small sensor “T” bar, which
also houses equipment to compensate for air characteristics is
positioned just below the target area and is readily protected
against stray shots.

The target has enhanced protection against rain, hail and other dirt Features:
or debris, and is IP67 Rated. The height of the target makes
protection against stray shots easier. Large detection area
Self test facilities are incorporated to ensure the highest integrity of
operations.

The system is used together with a Sydor Integrated Range Minimal maintenance
Instrumentation System (IRIS) for more extensive instrumentation
applications.

Systems such as these are used for shooter training as well as

System (IRIS)

The Integrated Range Instrumentation System (IRIS) is a high

speed data acquisition system for use in testing to NATO EPVAT
standards. The unit is modular to permit testing across a range
of different ballistic assessments. The primary purpose of IRIS is
to record and report on pressure, velocity, action time, and
accuracy.

IRIS is controlled by a compilation of Hardware and Software in

specifically configured to the needs of the end user. It is an open
system allowing possibilities for the user to extend the system
capabilities. The standard control software allows the system to be
pre-configured for a number of separately identifiable tests. A user Features:
friendly operator interface including Help screens is incorporated.
Data is displayed on a high resolution graphics display. The Rack, desktop, & notebook systems
acquired data may be displayed, printed or plotted during or after available
the trial or series.

Additionally, all acquired data together with trial configuration

details (and data etc) may be saved in a fixed format file on Multiple pressure & velocity channels

Sydor Single-Stage Gas Gun

The Sydor Gas Gun is a single-stage high performance and high

pressure test system that obtains high velocities by using a fast
acting shuttle valve which releases a set volume of gas (typically
Helium). Users adjust the gas pressure prior to firing to obtain the
desired projectile velocity.

Projectiles or fragments are loaded by removing the quick release

barrel. An over-center lever catch locks the barrel after loading, and
the gun is ready to fire. The standard configuration is designed to
accommodate 7.62 mm rounds for NATO (STANAG 2920)
Fragment Simulating Projectile (FSP) firing.
Features:
Other calibers can easily be added from 0.22” through to 12.7 mm
rifled and up to 42.2 mm (eg Golf Balls) with smooth bore barrels. Compatible with multiple caliber
projectiles
Firing is accomplished electrically, to allow for remote operation
and providing users with a safer environment. For added user
safety, the unit can easily be connected to the firing circuit through
door interlocks. Optional barrel-mounted velocity
sensors
An optional Gas Booster is available to optimize the use of the
helium gas. For larger projectiles at slower velocities an optimized
configuration has an integrated fiber optic velocity sensor on the

The Air Weapon Scoring System (AWSS) is designed for
determination and instant feedback of the impact point of bombs,
rockets, and strafing runs conducted by military aircraft. The
system’s design makes it easy to use and maneuver via trailer

deployed using the minimum of personnel.

The trailers can be deployed safely away from the target area and
can be quickly moved for different target blast radii. The strafing
