2. Answer all questions in sections A and B and two (2) questions from section C.
3. Section A carries sixteen (16) marks, section B carries fifty four (54) marks and section C
carries thirty (30) marks.

(c) Juma and Amina were discussing about the incidence of First World War. They

7. (a) Fakhi’s family was here in Africa when iron was discovered. Outline how iron
was useful to Fakhi’s family. (Five points).
(b) During the imposition of colonialism, colonialists collaborated with some
African leaders to defeat their fellow Africans. Give four reasons why some
African leaders betrayed their fellows.
10. After Second World War many African colonies started the movements to liberate
themselves from the umbrella of colonialism, it was Ghana that overlapped and became
the first country to succeed. Give six reasons for that early success.
11. Mr. Van Dyke and his fellow shifted from Europe to the Cape of Good Hope in South
Africa during the year 1652 and they planned to settle permanently there. Highlight the
reasons for their journey to the Cape (six points).
