Synopsis HRMS

This document provides an overview of a project titled "Human Resources Management System". It discusses the introduction to human resource management and the objectives and benefits of developing an HRMS software system. The proposed system will store and manage employee data such as salary, skills, qualifications, loans and insurance. It will allow for easy searching and modification of records while reducing paper usage and costs. The feasibility and requirements of the system are analyzed along with the waterfall model methodology and hardware and software requirements.

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT

Human Resource Management (HRM) is a relatively new

approach to managing people in any organization. People are considered the
key resource in this approach. It is concerned ,with the people dimension in
management of an organization. Since an organization is a body of people .their
acquisition, development of skill, motivation for higher levels of attempts, as well
as ensuring maintaining of their level of commitment are all significant activities.
Thise activity fall in the domain of HRM.

Human Resource management is a process ,which consist of

four main activities, namely, acquisition, development, motivation, as well as
maintenance of human resource.

Scott, clothier and Spriegel have defined Human Resource

Management as that branch of management which is responsible on a staff basis
for concentrating on those aspects of operation which are primarily concerned
with the relationship of management to employees and employees to employees
and with the development of the individual and the group.

Human Resource Management is responsible for maintaining

good human relations in the organization. It is also concerned with the
development of individual and achieving.
integration of goals of the organization and those of the individuals.

According to Edwin B.Flippo, "Human Resource Management

is the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the procurement,
development, resources to the end that individual and societal objectives are
accomplished". This definition reveals that human resource (HR) Management is
that aspect of management, which deals with the planning, organizing, direct in
and controlling the personnel functions of the enterprise.

2.LITERATURE SURVEY

2.1Existing System –

Currently all the work &documents of any other work are

handled manually. All the documents are only on paper. It does not have
any other backup. This is unsafe method because papers are degradable ,
data will be missed by any physical activity.

2.2Proposed System –

In this system we are store the employee salary,

annual income, income tax, skill of employee, qualification of employee,
loan and insurance information .To bring onto a string the employee specific
suggestions and make them free to post their requirements to the HR thus
bringing the organization more specific regarding the
maintenance of the organization.

2.3Feasibility Study –

A feasibility study is carried out to select the best system that

meets performance requirements.

The main aim of doing the feasibility study is to determine whether it

would be financially and technically feasible to develop the product. The
feasibility study activity involves the analysis of the problem and collection
of all relevant information related to the product such as the different data
items which would be input to the system, the processing required to be
carried out on these data, the output data required to be produced by the
system as well as various constraints on the behavior of the system.

2.3.1 Technical Feasibility :

This is concerned with specifying equipment

and software that will successfully satisfy the user requirement. The
technical needs of the system may vary considerably, but might include:

• The facility to produce outputs in a given time.

• Response time under certain conditions.

• Ability to process a certain volume of transaction at a particular speed.

• Facility to communicate data to distant locations.

In examining technical feasibility, configuration of the system is given more

importance than the actual make of hardware. The configuration should give the
complete picture about the system's requirements:

How many workstations are required, how these units are interconnected so
that they could operate and communicate smoothly?

What speeds of input and output should be achieved at particular quality of printing?

2.3.2 Economical Feasibility

Economic analysis is the most frequently used

technique for <---valuating the effectiveness of a proposed system. More
commonly known as Cost I Benefit analysis, the procedure is to determine the
benefits and savings that arc expected from a proposed system and compare them
with costs. If benefits outweigh costs, a decision is taken to design and implement
the system. Otherwise, further justification or alternative in the proposed system
will have to be made if it is to have a chance of being approved. This is an
outgoing effort that improves in accuracy at each phase of the system life cycle.

2.3.3 Operational Feasibility

This is mainly related to human organizational and

political aspects. The points to be considered arc:

• What changes will be brought with the system?

• If organizational structure will be disturbed?

• What new skills will be required? Do the existing staff members

have these skills? If not, can they be trained in due course of time?

This feasibility study is carried out by a small group or people who are
familiar with information system technique and are skilled in system analysis and
design process.
Proposed projects arc beneficial only if they can be turned into
information system that will meet the operating requirements of the organization.
This test of feasibility asks if the system will work when it is developed and
installed.
3.OBJECTIVE OF SYSTEM

To develop a software application that supports the application specific

to the HR automation in an intranet specific to a company there by allowing
the integration of all the employees pertaining to that organization. To keep
track of all the other departments related to that organization such as
marketing, development etc.

Transparency.

• Searching & modifying is made easier.

• To reduce redundancy of data.

• It required less time to fill data.

• To reduce paper costs.

• To maintain all types of records and store securely.

• To provide a better way for access information.

• To provide better service.

• Save time.
