    Lesson 12 Demonstratives – This, That, These, Those

    Lección 12
    Demostrativos – “this”, “that”, “these”, “those.

    This, That, These, Those are called demonstratives and they are used to show the relative
    distance between the speaker and the noun and we can found them on two ways.
    A “this”, “that”, “these”, “those” se les llama demostrativos y se usan para mostrar la distancia relativa entre el que habla y el
    sustantivo y podemos encontrar de dos maneras.

    We use this (singular) and these (plural) to refer to something that is here / near.
    Usamos “this” (singular) y “these” (plural) para referirnos a algo que esta aquí o cerca.
    We use that (singular) and those (plural) to refer to something that is there / far.
    Usamos “that” (singular) y “those” (plural) para referirnos a algo que esta ahí o lejos.

    Uses in Present and Past This is


    If an action is happening we tend to use this / these. The expression “this is” is commonly used when we

    Those girls we met last night were pretty. (A phrase


    expressed at next day.)

    The next is a very concrete chart to know when to use each demonstrative according to
    the context of the situation. El que sigue, es un cuadro muy concreto para saber cuando usar cada demostrativo según el
    contexto de la situación.

    Remember that demonstratives can even change with another parameter not just related
    with relative distance, interaction would be another element to consider.
    Recuerda que los demostrativos pueden incluso cambiar con otro parámetro no solo relacionado con la distancia relativa, la interacción sería
