3D graphics are used in every aspect of the media industry. They allow for the conceptualization
and visualization of assets for use in film and television, games, journalism, and a variety of other
media. The ability to rapidly modify objects through an iterative process enables the creation of
production-ready models that fit within the constraints of the production.
You will learn to conceptualize, develop, and implement 3D models for media productions using
industry-standard practices as they explore 3D modelling packages. They will investigate a variety
of modelling tools and techniques in order to create models that meet the requirements and
constraints of the intended product. They will use 2D and 3D painting and editing software to
create textures that can be applied to models to make them fit into specific media contexts for
various purposes.
You have applied for a full-time 3D generalist position in an animation production studio. You have
been chosen for the second interview by the Creative Director (CD) in which you must present the
work so that the CD could assess your technical abilities. You will have to create a project portfolio
ranging from concept to creation of the 3D assets based on the requirements listed by the studios
job advertisement.
1. Part 1 – Screen recorded training videos on how these 3D assets can be created from concept
to completion. You must also include the source files and final output.
a. One scene using basic primitives.
b. Seven vehicles using low-poly.
c. Hammer and axe model, knife using the plane object.
d. Two guns with proper unwrap and texture.
Use this opportunity to show off your skills and abilities in order to land the job.
3. Part 2 content – Story, sketches, concepts and prototypes, source files, screen recorded
videos on how these assets were created, and final output.
Your grade is assessed by your submission. To ensure that your submission meets the
