to:
a) identify the different stages of Water Cycle;
b) describe the importance of Water Cycle; and
c) color and label the stages of Water Cycle

II. Learning Content

Topic: Water in the Environment (Water Cycle)

Instructional Materials: videos, pictures and worksheet

III. Learning Experiences

Preliminary Activities
1. Flag Ceremony
2. Opening Prayer
3. Greetings and Energizer
4. Class Rules
5. Checking of Attendance, Months and Days
6. Sharing Time and Energize

A. Stimulating Activity
‘Dora likes to go on adventures with you. Would you like to join
her? She is badly in need of finding the missing words to complete
her task. Would you like to help her with her task?’

Then teacher will group the class into four. Each group will receive one envelope and
try to assemble the missing word. Whoever's group finishes arranging the correct
word will be the winner. The class will be given 2 minutes to arrange the assigned
words.

Guide Questions:

1. What word did Group 1 assemble?

- The group 1 assembles the word Evaporation

2. What word did Group 2 assemble?

- The group 2 assembles the word Condensation
3. What word did Group 3 assemble?
- The group 3 assembles the word Precipitation
4. What word did Group 4 assemble?
- The group 4 assembles the word Transpiration
5. Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation and Transpiration are the stages of?
- Water Cycle
‘Dora is very grateful for all your help. She is very happy to
complete the task and find the missing words.’

After, the teacher will present a video about Water Cycle

B. Actual

The teacher will present a picture of a water cycle and discuss the different stages.

The water cycle shows the continuous

movement of water within the Earth and
atmosphere. It is a complex system that
includes many different processes. Liquid
water evaporates into water vapor, condenses
to form clouds, and precipitates back to earth
in the form of rain and snow.

The water cycle is important because it is how water reaches plants, animals and us! Besides
providing people, animals and plants with water, it also moves things like nutrients,
pathogens and sediment in and out of aquatic ecosystems.
 Evaporation

When the sun heats up water in rivers or lakes or

the ocean and turns it into vapor or steam. The
water vapor or steam leaves the river, lake or
ocean and goes into the air.

 Condensation

The water vapor that accumulated in the

atmosphere eventually cools down due to the low
temperatures found at high altitudes. These vapors
become tiny droplets of water and ice, eventually
coming together to form clouds.

 Precipitation

It occurs when so much water has condensed that

the air cannot hold it anymore. The clouds get
heavy and water falls back to the earth in the form
of rain, hail, sleet or snow.

 Transpiration
It is the process of water movement through a plant
and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as
leaves, stems and flowers.
C. Follow-Up

The teacher will present and paste in the different flashcards that contain the different
definitions of words. The students will then try to match the word to its description.
D. Evaluation

The students will be given a printed worksheet to complete the activity.

A. Direction: Color and label the stages of Water Cycle.

B. Describe the importance of Water Cycle to the environment.

What to do:

1. Study the picture of the water cycle.

2. Write your ideas about the importance of water cycle to human, animals and plants.

Guide Questions:

1. What does the picture show? ________________________________

2. What is the importance of water cycle to the plants, human and animals?
_________________________________________

3. Can we live without the water cycle? Why or why not?

_________________________________________

4. Why is the water cycle important to the environment?
