PERDEV MOD 3-5 Reflection

This journal reflection discusses influences on course selection, self-concept, and weaknesses in Filipino values. It contains the following key points: 1. The student's parents, peers, and community influence their course selection, with parents providing the most advice based on real-world experience. 2. The student sees their self-concept as focusing on survival and overcoming challenges without losing themselves. 3. One observed weakness in Filipino values is judging scenarios based on what others say rather than the actual source. Building discipline is emphasized as more important than motivation for improving oneself.

Judging a scenario base It is mainly observed most The rule of thumb is to

What can I do
Dear self, I commit to always build the discipline I have instilled upon myself to
be a better person overall. In my past experiences I have always thought that motivation
is what fuels me the most to do better things that could result in positive benefits to
myself. But after many experiences I realized that motivation is just a temporary fill for
me to commit on doing good things. Discipline is what drives most successful people
into the path they’ve always wanted to achieve. It builds a long-lasting effect on you as it
will force you to be always on track on the goals you’ve wanted to set upon yourself. By
removing bad habits, I once did, this will lessen the obstacles that would hinder my
progress on being a disciplined person. I’ll progressively do thing at my own pace as
this will ensure myself to avoid pressure and external disturbances that would affect me
negatively.

MYSELF
Physical traits: Both parents being short has led me to being short as well. My mom
and dad have whitish skin, but I inherited my dad’s skin tone while having a clear and
bright skin is from my mother. I may inherit baldness as my dad used to be bald when
he was alive.
Personal traits: Being invested and having a positive outlook in life is what I inherited
from my mom. The aspect of not giving up even if everything is weighing you down is
adapted from my mom also. Generally being quite and observant before I interact with a
person is a trait I got from my dad.
Behavioral traits: Personally, my anger issues rooted from my father, but I do sense
sometimes that my mom also has it. But being calm and collected especially for
necessary times is from my dad. Having a bright and positive outlook in life, especially
bottling some of my emotions if needed might be inherited from my mom.
