Barangay Mission and Vision in Nutrition
Mission
The Barangay Council and the Barangay Nutrition Committee of this
Local Government, Stake Holder, Families, Community and Health
Provider shall collaborate in order to achieve proper Nutrition and
Health care of the Barangay aligned with PPAN goals 2017-2022 in
order to ensure that health of our Barangay Constituents are sustained.
Vision
Focus interventions on nutrition program of the Barangay initiated by
the Nutrition Committee can be achieve through proper collaborations,
cooperation, of which the Mission and Vision in Nutrition are deeply
understood among Stake Holders and Members of the Barangay
Nutrition Committee. Hence all BNC members has define its role and
functions align with all program, projects and activities in nutrition
towards PPAN goals 2017-2022. Hence focus interventions geared on
the first 1000 days of life of children and advocates the paradigm shift of
behavioral changes among targeted beneficiaries.
TOWARDS THIS END, the Barangay Nutrition Committee Members

hereto defined its role and functions to carry out sensitive and nutrition
specific interventions inspired by our mission, vision and goals in
nutrition of the Barangay;
A. The Barangay Captain.
1) Preside over the regular BNC meeting.
2) Monitor the BPAN quarterly and in force data inscription of
the BPAN from responsible committee members.
3) Issue letter of invitations or memorandum of BNC meeting
inviting BNC members and other agencies.
4) Instruct secretary designated of the BNC for record of
minutes of quarterly meetings.
5) Direct all others activities necessary for the implementations
of Barangay Nutrition Action Plan.
6) Secure the provision of funds for Nutrition program.

B. The Vice Chairperson of BNC and Committee on Health and

Welfare.
1) Preside over the BNC meeting in the absence of the BNC
chairman.
2) Carry all other duties and responsibilities mandated by the
BNC Chairman.
3) Carry-out Nutrition and health related activities in line with
PPAN implementation along Barangay BPAN.
4) Coordinate other committees for the appropriations of fund
for health and nutrition program.
5) Lead the implementations of all nutrition program activities
of the Barangay.
C. Committee Chairman on Agriculture, Vitenerary and fishery.
1) Provide supports on sustainable food security among families
with malnourished children particularly on agriculture.
2) Heads the G4 plus gardening both house hold and communal
level.
3) Assist in the preparations and establishing home gardening.
4) Leads the conduct of gardening contest in the Barangay.
5) Initiate activities for income generating and livelihood projects
of depressed families.
6) Initiate assistance from City agriculture for sustainable food
security among families with malnourished children with focus
on veterinary and fishery.
7) Support other duties and responsibilities favorable for nutrition
implementation.
D. Committee Chairman on Ways and means.
1) Assist in the conduct of Health Education among parents with
malnourished children
2) Support all activities in nutrition of the Barangay.
3) Assist the conduct of nutrition education classes.
E. Committee of finance and appropriation. Heads in the
appropriation of fund for the Nutrition Program such:
1) Funding on One-on-one feeding of malnourished children
2) Funding on Provision of Microtoise and height board.
3) Funding for provision of Nutrition Office and its office
supplies.
4) Funding for provision of office supplies for BNS
5) Funding for BNS training and conventions TEV’s
6) Funding for provision of medical equipment at the BHS.

F. Committee on Laws and Ordinances.

1) Lead the formulations of policies and resolutions.
2) Formulate resolutions in the adoption of BPAN
3) Support all activities in nutrition of the Barangay
4) Committee on Education, Women, Family and Children.
5) Assist activities that support nutrition program
6) Coordinate in the conduct of Nutrition education among
families with underweight children.
7) Support activities on feeding program.
8) Monitor OPT data in the School and report to BNC.
G. Committee on Laws and Ordinances.
1) Lead the formulations of policies and resolutions.

H. Purok Officials.
1) Assist and coordinate with the Barangay Council in carrying
health and nutrition program at the Purok andHhousehold
level

Feeding Program, G4 gardening, Home follow-up and visits,
Livelihood assistance.

I. The Women Organizations
a. Assist activities that support nutrition program

J. The BNAO.
1) Responsible in the monitoring for the implementations of
Nutrition program.
2) Periodically feed back to the Barangay Captain and the BNC
the outcome and progress of the nutrition implementations.
3) Implement all other duties and functions as requested by the
BNC chair.
K. BHW Organization.
1) Assist all activities that support nutrition program
2) Assist BNS in the conduct of OPT-plus measurement
3) Assist for the conduct of household classes.
L. The religious group and organizations
2) Leads the conduct of moral strengthening of the family
M. Agency operating the Barangay.
2) Implement available services provided by the agency.
3) Other functions and service in aid of barangay performance.
