What is temptation?

Gospel topics definition: Temptation is a test of a person’s ability to choose good instead of evil.

Without temptations you are not able to excersise your agency, to choose doing right or wrong.

It's a necessary but the only tool that can make your earthly and the next life, hell.

(Conclusion that it leads to miserable things)

I truly think that we never had so strong temptations as theselast days. Especially that
sometimes it's even hard to recognise them.
So how do we withstand it?

(First, clarifying that your will doesn't always equals temptations) - brutally honest self analysis:
is it my honest desire or Satan's/natural man's?

What if it's yours (understand the concept of sin, commandments and consequences, study,
pray)

What if it's not (much more to do):

“tempted above that which [they] can bear” (Alma 13:28).

Have confidence in the Lord, not in yourself!
(Doesn't mean that you shouldn't be confident) - He will show you every necessary step how to
withstand.
And if there's no more physical things to do, he will give strength but the immeasurable grace
is there from the very beginning. (Just so u know it's hard to get to a point when there's
nothing is to do)

What can we do? (4 Examples)

- step out of your comfort zone every single day
- get to know yourself better by analysing and question your reactions. And also by meditation.
- keep busy by healthy habits that gives you joy
- avoid and filter triggers that causes you to be tempted

What can Christ do? (4 Examples)

- show empathy and listen to our prayers (special way of prayer)
- speak to us through scriptures showing guidance in attitude and in actions.
- send us warning:
“No member of this Church—and that means each of you—will ever make a serious mistake
without first being warned by the promptings of the Holy Ghost.”
(President Boyd K. Packer)
- forgive us instantly by His infinite mercy:
Moroni 6:8
8 But as oft as they repented and sought forgiveness, with real intent, they were forgiven.

Mosiah 26:30
30 Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me.
Etc.

Explain scriptures.

Don't forget that we don't obey because we have to pay a rent in order to recive grace. We obey
because we are grateful receiving the grace for free. We all have temptations and that's okay,
the Savior had more of them than anyone in this world.
And this is why He exactly knows how to help you.

Rely on Him by being willing to follow His councils, trough prayer, scripture studying and
partaking of the sacrament and ordinances.

Amen
