how much time did Saima read the novel?
Sol. Saima started 11:30a.m --------------------ended 1:15 pm
11:30 ----30min------- 12:00--- 1hour------1:00------- 15min-----1:15
1 hour + 30 min+ 15 min = 1 hour 45 min.
Saima read the novel in = 1 hour 45 min.
Q3. Emma started the washing machine at 7 a.m. She set the timer for 1 hour. When did
the washing machine stop?

Q4. Sarah went out to play at 4:30 p.m. She returned home at 6:15 pm . How long did
Sarah play with her friends?
Sol. Sarah start 4:30 pm------------------------- ended 6:15 pm

4:30 pm ---------30 min---------5:00 pm----- 1 hour -----6:00 pm-------15 min---------- 6:15 pm


1hour + 30 min + 15 min = 1 hour 45 min.
Sarah played for 1 hour 45 min.
Q6.Rita started reading a novel on 4 th July. She finished the novel on 25th august. On
which day did she finish reading the novel ?
Sol.s Number of days in July = 31 – 3 = 28
Number of days in august = 25
Total = 28 + 25 =53 days
She finished at around 53 days.
Q7.Rohan and his friends went on a trip. They started on 25 th May and returned on 10 th
June. How many days did they spend on the trip?
Sol.Number of days in may = 31 – 24 =7
Number of days in June = 10
Total days = 7+ 10 = 17 days
They spend 17 days on a trip.
Q9. Ria’s grandma knitted a sweater in 3 weeks’ time . She started knitting on 14th
October. On which day she take to knit the sweater?
sol. 3 weeks = 3 * 7 = 21 days .
number of days in oct. = 31 – 13= 18
Days = 21-18 =3 days
She finished the sweater on 3 nov.
Q10. The student went on a school trip to Nagaland . they left for the trip on 9 september.
The came back on 10 october . how many days they were out ?
Sol. Number of days in sep.= 30 – 8 =22 days
Number of days in October = 10 days
Total days – 22 + 10 = 32 days .

2 week = 2*7 =14 days


Number of days in nov.= 30- 23 = 7 days
14 – 7 = 7 dec.
