TITLE:
A Proposed One-Storey Vacation House with Loft
Mr. Jeffry Tan (Client) owner and marketing head of his several fast-food chains in metro
manila and a food and travel vlogger has decided that his R-1 zoned property with a Total Lot
Area (TLA) of 400 square meters located in Tagaytay City, shall be developed to host a
Proposed One-Storey Vacation House with Loft (“the Project”).
The Project Site is an inside lot, rectangular in shape, having a 16-meter frontage that is facing
Southeast. The project site uniformly slopes at 10% draining Northwest. The fifteen-meter (15m)
Road Right-of-Way (RROW) has a 1.8m wide paver block surface sidewalk on each side. The
RROW is at 0.0 elevation. To the left of the site is a vacant lot and to the right of the Project Site
is a proposed 2-storey single detached residence. At the rear of the site is a creek eight meters
(,8.0) wide to its high-water line level. The high-water line is three meters (3.00m) below the
RROW grade elevation at the front of the site and has a two-meter (2.00m) wide embankment.
Lastly, there’s a view of Taal lake & volcano at the northwest side of the property.
THE OBJECTIVES:
1. To design a One-Storey Vacation House with Loft satisfying the needs and
requirements of the owner.
2. To design a One-Storey Vacation House with loft that will cater and best fit the
client’s personality.
3. To enrich the Filipino culture & values through incorporation of Philippine
Architecture design concept and climate-oriented design solutions and strategies.
THE NEEDS:
The project demands/calls for the following design criteria and considerations.
1. Architectural design and functions should foster Philippine culture and adhere to
the country’s Geographical setting.
2. The design of One-Storey Vacation House with Loft should maximize the comfort
of its users without necessarily consuming a great amount of energy by utilizing
proper space planning techniques and proper orientation taking advantage of
Tagaytay cold weather.
3. The design should conform to the Rule 7&8 of the National Building Code of the
Philippines regarding R-1 development.
