INTRODUCTION

Technology is the application of knowledge to reach practical goals in a

specifiable and reproducible way. The word technology may also mean the
product of such an endeavor. The use of technology is widely prevalent in medicine,
science, industry, communication, transportation, and daily life.
Technology can be a powerful tool for transforming learning. It can help affirm
and advance relationships between educators and students, reinvent our
approaches to learning and collaboration, shrink long-standing equity and
accessibility gaps, and adapt learning experiences to meet the needs of all learners.
However, to realize fully the benefits of technology in our education system
and provide authentic learning experiences, educators need to use technology
effectively in their practice. Furthermore, education stakeholders should commit to
working together to use technology to improve American education. These
stakeholders include leaders; teachers, faculty, and other educators; researchers;
policymakers; funders; technology developers; community members and
organizations; and learners and their families.
INTRODUCTION LAPTOP

A laptop computer, sometimes called a notebook computer by manufacturers,

is a battery- or AC-powered personal computer generally smaller than a briefcase
that can easily be transported and conveniently used in temporary spaces such as
on airplanes, in libraries, temporary offices, and at meetings. A laptop typically
weighs less than 5 pounds and is 3 inches or less in thickness. Among the best-
known makers of laptop computers are IBM, Apple, Compaq, Dell, and Toshiba.
Laptop computers generally cost more than desktop computers with the same
capabilities because they are more difficult to design and manufacture. A laptop can
effectively be turned into a desktop computer with a docking station, a hardware
frame that supplies connections for peripheral input/output devices such as a printer
or larger monitor. The less capable port replicator allows you to connect a laptop to a
number of peripherals through a single plug.
Laptops usually come with displays that use thin-screen technology. The thin
film transistor or active matrix screen is brighter and views better at different angles
than the STN or dual-scan screen. Laptops use several different approaches for
integrating a mouse into the keyboard, including the touch pad, the trackball, and the
pointing stick. A serial port also allows a regular mouse to be attached. The PC
Card is insertable hardware for adding a modem or network interface card to a
laptop. CD-ROM and digital versatile disc drives may be built-in or attachable.
METHOD OF GATHERING INFORMATION

I search about the laptop technology benefit in internet and websites:

Advantages and Disadvantages of Laptops

Advantages of Laptops :
1. Mobility –
The main advantage of a laptop, as compared with a stationary computer, is its
mobility. The lightweight, compact size, the built-in battery within the laptop
allowing it to simply move from one place to a different one. Many models are
often worn in the least times, utilized in a park, cafe, or carted during a car.

2. Finished product –
The laptop is straightforward to use with none additional devices. It’s everything
like its own keyboard, built-in mouse (touchpad), built-in speakers, built-in
microphone, many laptops have a built-in camera.

3. Internet access –
Internet access is the second advantage for the increase in demand for the
laptop because it provides the power to access the web through wireless
technology Wi-Fi.

4. Offline operation –
The laptop is additionally convenient to use for all types of presentations. In this
case, you are doing not dependent upon the technical equipment of the venue.
As the laptop can work offline from its battery so no need to connect from the
mains.

5. Instant –
Usually carrying a laptop means your ticket to instant access to information, be
it personal or professional. It results in better collaboration between co-workers
or students.
Disadvantages of Laptops :
1. Frequent Upgrades –
The laptops are difficult to upgrade thanks to their integrated design. The sole
parts which will be upgraded are hard disc and memory as these are the sole
parts that are accessible to the user. It’s very difficult to repair it. As every
laptop has its own proprietary design and construction, they’re difficult to
upgrade. Additionally, they need a high maintenance cost too.

2. Higher price –
The laptops are costly as compared to PC, because the smaller components
required by the laptop come costly.

3. Difficulty in customization –
The laptop doesn’t offer an option for personalization consistent with one’s
requirements. The laptop only gives access to the computer’s memory and disk
drive. The opposite components like processors, graphics cards, and cooling
systems aren’t easy to access and replace. So, when one among the laptop’s
non-customization components becomes obsolete then you’ll need to buy a
replacement laptop to stay up with the technology.

4. Highly insecure –
The laptops are generally stolen thanks to their heavy cost. The thieves may
misuse the stolen business data or personal data which will convince be very
dangerous. Hence, both the physical protection of laptops and the safeguarding
of knowledge are very important.

5. Health issues –
Prolonged use of laptops can cause RSI thanks to their flat keyboard and
trackpad pointing devices. The integrated screen of the Laptop often causes the
users to hunch for a far better view than can cause neck or spinal injuries.

6. Durability –
Thanks to their high portability laptops are subject to more wear and tear.
Laptop components like screen hinges, latches, and power jacks are
susceptible to deteriorate gradually thanks to ordinary use.

7. Video Cards – It is easier to run as many video cards as possible on a

desktop at a time, but laptops have a lot of limitations when it comes to the use
of video cards because laptops are not compatible with the consumption of high
power and may lead to permanent damage.
Then I search about the laptop technology benefit in book and magazines;

A laptop computer is a small personal computer. They are designed to be more

portable than traditional desktop computers, with many of the same abilities.
Laptops are able to be folded flat for transportation and have a built-in keyboard
and touchpad.

Most laptops are powerful enough for everyday business administrative, home, or
school use. However, if a user does graphical work such as 3D rendering or
movie encoding, a more advanced and powerful laptop is needed. As advanced
as laptops are, the top-end ones still cannot compete with high powered desktops
and workstations when processing power is needed.

What Is a Laptop Computer?

A laptop computer is smaller than a desktop computer, generally less than three
inches thick, and weigh less than desktop computers. The laptop's size makes
it convenient for transportation in briefcases, backpacks, and other bags.

The device derives its name from being able to be used by resting on a person's lap
without the need for a desk or other surface. Laptop computers may also be referred
to as notebook computers, though a notebook computer usually describes a
computer that is smaller and lighter than a laptop computer.
Types of Laptop Computers

While there are no specific types of laptops, retailers generally give them categories
for consumers to help them find one for their needs. Some of the labels you might
find at a retailer are:

 Value
 Everyday
 Gaming
 Professional
 Ultraportable or notebook

Value laptops usually have lower price tags, with lower-performing hardware, and
less storage and memory for people that only do basic computing such as a few
hours of internet browsing, playing a movie, or writing some papers.

Everyday laptops might have slightly higher performance with more storage and
memory for people that use computers more than a value-user would. This might be
someone who uses the laptop for work or school but doesn't require significant
processing power and storage for 3D applications like 3d Max or gaming.
FINDING
CONCLUSION

In conclusion, laptops have been evolving rapidly and constantly as our life
styleshave changed where people do not stay behind desks anymore. As a result,
we neededdevices to suit our fast-paced and mobile lives. Laptops have never been
more attractive to consumers as they now offer great processors that are
comparable with desktops’,which also offer portability at the same time. Since the
modern trend has been changedpeople to be mobile and be ready to access their
working environment in 24 hours, laptops’ features, functions, and designs are
changing to suit the laptop-orientedlifestyles. Many new types of laptops have
introduced to suit the needs in this digital age.In other words, instead having huge
square box with wires, varieties of mobile andaffordable laptops has developed to
fulfill desktop tasks. Laptops now pack enough toperform equally as desktops and
offer mobility. Not only the laptops can substitutedesktops, they also can do tablets’
job. Tablets may have advantage when it comes to itssize and weight, and they are
great for consuming media. However, they have flaws whenthey are used for serious
tasks. “If you need to do serious work, need powerful processingor multitasking, or
need compatibility with a specific accessory or storage device, there’sno good
alternative to the laptop” (Westover). Currently, the laptops utilized forperforming
many serious tasks and offers light weighted and thin features. Therefore, asthe
technology advances, we need to expect more possibilities of innovated laptops
thatmay unveil in the future.
