3. AREAS OF A CITY A city is constantly changing and growing and new neighbourhoods are being built. There are three main areas in a city:
The city centre is the oldest part of a city.
The streets are usually narrow, and the buildings are short and old. We can find here the city hall, churches and monuments. There is usually a train station near the city centre. The modern neighbourhoods is the new part of the city. It has wide streets, lots of homes, offices and shops. The buildings are new and tall. The outskirts is the part of the city where industrial states and factories are located. There is lots of space to build new buildings. The airport is located here.
