 anything that helps reconstruct the meaning

1. read the title and the subtitle + picture
2. read 2 questions + circle the key words
3. read the first paragraph [skim and scan]

The required knowledge for IELTS listening test:
 test wiseness ( rubrics, strategies, paraphrasing)
 topic and genre familiarity
 phonetic nature of sounds
 phonological process ( connected speech)
 clusters & blending [ consonants and vowels], e.g
 deletion
 use of contractions (Id , it’ll, that’s, we’ve, there’s)
 Range of English accents

Writing criteria:
1. TR( task response) : read the question carefully not to miss any part
2. C & C( coherence and cohesion) : have unity ( connections between the
sentences and the paragraphs)
 Cohesive devices:
 linking words
 Reference words > this , that, the ones
 Substitution
 Deletion > not repeating a part of a sentence that was mentioned,
if you do so
3. lR( lexical resource) : a range of vocabulary, collocations, idiomatic
expressions
4. GRA( grammatical range and accuracy): a variety of complex structures +
not having mistakes
